CCAP Nkhoma Synod Health Department invites applications from suitably qualified and well experienced applicants for the positions of Project Officer tenable at Nkhoma Mission Hospital under Eye Department. This is one and half- year (18 months) Employment Contract.

PROJECT OFFICER – GRADE I

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leading internal coordination across staff roles, and liaising externally with Government Hospitals, NGOs, and other stakeholders to deliver complex implementation.
2. Maintaining timely, professional communications with project staff and stakeholders to resolve problems and build trust.
3. Developing work plans and negotiating schedules in line with project targets and hospital capacity.
4. Managing budgets, resources, dependencies and risks, and working closely with finance staff.
5. Monitoring implementation (progress, deliverables, coherence and consistency, quality and effectiveness).
6. Determining the need for improvements.
7. Discovering ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and staff.
8. Writing and completing comprehensive reports and metrics using standardised templates.
9. Ensuring project operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal Hospital Policies, such as procurement and safeguarding.
10. Representing the project in meetings related to disability and/or eye health organized by the Government and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential
1. University degree in Business Administration or Public Administration or related fields.
2. Relevant experience in medicine, public health, project management, development studies is an added advantage.
3. At least three years of experience in inclusive Project Management of development programmes including monitoring and evaluation.
4. Demonstrated experience with accountability practices and working with vulnerable groups.
5. Fluency in written and spoken English.

Desirable
1. Experience and understanding of Eye Health and particular Eye Health Services in Malawi.
2. Sound understanding of disability and age-related issues.
3. Experience working with Government, national and international non-governmental organisations.
4. Experience in monitoring and evaluation is an added advantage.

CCAP Nkhoma Synod Health Department invites applications from suitably qualified and well experienced applicants for the position of Social Worker (Grade I) tenable at Nkhoma Mission Hospital in Lilongwe District. This is a Two year (24 months) Employment Contract subject to renewal based on overall efficiency, conduct and diligence with which the employee is discharging his/her duties as well as the overall performance and availability of funds.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Providing counselling to clients at the Hospital like patients or guardians who have social problems or psychosocial problems.
2. Cheering and counselling Clients or patients with chronic illness and HIV and Aids.
3. Registering orphans whose parents mainly mothers have died soon after giving birth.
4. Ensuring that newly born babies are linked to be registered for birth registration under National Birth Registration Bureau.
5. Making various Social inquiries for the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and link them to services to promote their rights.
6. Ensuring that the Hospital is child friendly and disability friendly.
7. Facilitating the child friendly services at the Hospital like child care centre at the pediatric centre.
8. Compiling social reports in respect of the survivors of the violence.
9. Linking patients with relations.
10. Lobbying with relations or medical experts for special support to some patients.
11. Conducting psychosocial support to patients.
12. Doing assessment of patients who are mentally ill awaiting to be referred to another facility for further management.
13. Conducting routine home visits for Palliative care patients.
14. Compiling and submitting quarterly reports for Palliative care patients.
15. Any other duties deemed reasonable for the post.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
1. Applicants should have a Degree in Social Work from a recognized training Institution.
2. Must have a minimum of two years’ work experience in the field.
3. Must be a good team player with strong organizational skills.
4. Good communicator-both oral and written
5. Strong interpersonal skills.
6. Pleasant and approachable.
7. Task Oriented.
8. Ability to work with minimal Supervision.
9. Experience with computer use and applications.

CCAP Nkhoma Synod Health Department invites applications from suitably qualified and well experienced applicants for the position of Data Officer (Grade I) tenable at Nkhoma Mission Hospital in Lilongwe District. This is a One year (12 months) Employment Contract.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Designing a REDCap database to monitor the use of endoscopy services at Nkhoma Mission Hospital.
2. Inputting, managing, curating, and reporting endoscopy data within REDCap to monitor and demonstrate the impact of the Boston Scientific endoscopy grant on clinical outcomes, training, service delivery, and research.
3. Preparing and supporting internal, external monitoring visits and audits and implementing corrective actions based on the findings.
4. Generating regular dashboards, analytic exports, and ad hoc reports for PAACS leadership, clinical investigators, and Boston Scientific.
5. Preparing datasets for analysis and publication.
6. Liaising with PAACS program staff, Boston Scientific contacts, statisticians, and site teams on project activities.
7. Attending project meetings and providing progress updates.
8. Ensuring adherence to Hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in all endoscopy processes.
9. Ensuring regularly review and updating protocols to align with quality and safety best practices.
10. Any other duties deemed reasonable for the post.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
• Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science/Computer Science/Statistics/Public Health or its equivalent from a recognized training Institution.
• Must have a minimum of two years’ of demonstrated work experience in data management, statistical research or monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
• Must have a solid understanding of clinical environments, medical terminology, and patient interaction.
• Must have ability to work effectively within a diverse, international, and multi-cultural team.
• Must demonstrate mastery of standard office software for data entry, report generation, and presentation building. This includes utilizing Excel for tracking research metrics, Word for drafting protocols, and PowerPoint for collaborator meetings.
• Must be comfortable navigating digital filing systems. Prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or research databases is a significant advantage.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must have high degree of flexibility to pivot between different projects and handle the unpredictable nature of surgical research.
• Must demonstrate emotional and professional maturity to work effectively within a resource-limited setting.
