In Malawi, learning poverty among children with disabilities is estimated to be over 95%. Behind this statistic are thousands of children repeating classes and eventually dropping out of school.

Together with the Ministry of Education, and with support from FCDO through EdTech Hub, we are excited to begin an implementation study exploring how technology can strengthen screening, assessment, and support for learners with Special Needs Education (SNE).

Through this initiative, we aim to digitalize screening tools and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure learners are identified early, supported appropriately, and included in meaningful learning opportunities.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, participate, and thrive.

Our Early Intervention Program team just wrapped a refresher training for health workers at Bwaila & Likuni Hospitals on MDAT-IDEC & the new MDAT-SIGNS tool.

By integrating simplified screening into routine services such as immunization clinics, this initiative helps identify and connect children who need additional support to care earlier, while building a more responsive, sustainable, and inclusive health system for children and families.

Now, HSAs spot red flags during immunizations and refer kids for early support, making a REAL difference!

Health is not just about hospitals or medicine. It’s about whether a child is seen, cared for, and given a fair chance to grow.

On this World Health Day, we are reminded that for many children, especially those with disabilities, good health starts with inclusion, being listened to, and not being left behind.

At FFN, we believe healthier communities begin when every child matters, in every space, every time.

His resurrection is our reason to keep going.

In our work, we meet children and families going through really hard situations. Sometimes change feels slow. Sometimes it feels like nothing is moving at all.

But the resurrection reminds us that difficult moments are not the end of the story.

It gives us hope to keep going.

For us at FFN, this message is simple: we keep showing up, we keep listening, and we keep working for a better future for every child.

Because if new life can come from what seemed finished, then there is always hope for the communities we serve.

Today, we join the world in recognizing World Autism Awareness Day. A day to celebrate neurodiversity and amplify autistic voices.

At Fount for Nations, we believe in building communities that embrace inclusion, respect dignity, and ensure every autistic person is heard, valued, and supported.

Understanding begins with awareness, and awareness grows through compassion and action.

Together, let’s continue to create a world where every Life is valued.
