HOLY SPIRIT EMPHASIS WEEK

THEME: CELEBRATION OF PENTECOST BY PASTOR ENERST KACHETO BANDA

Today, we completed the Holy Spirit Emphasis Week at Partners in Hope, a time of fellowship and worship among staff. We were reminded that God has given us the gracious gift of the Holy Spirit to empower us for life and service.

THE MEANING OF PENTECOST – this is one of the festivals of the nation of Israel from the Old Testament. They celebrated the giving of the Law by God to Moses and the feast was held fifty days after Passover. The church in the New Testament celebrates Pentecost as the day that came 50 days after the death of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit came upon the believers on this day (this marks the birthday of the church). In Acts 1:8 it indicates that Jesus Christ commanded the disciples to wait in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit comes upon them to give the power to be the witnesses of Christ who are empowered to take the Gospel to the whole world. We were reminded that we have been given the Holy Spirit to be empowered for service at Partners in Hope, and to be agents of change in our various communities.

THE RESULTS OF RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT – JOHN 14:16-19 shows that the Lord Jesus Christ is promising that believers will not be alone, but He will ask the Father to send another Helper (the Holy Spirit), to dwell in us, and to be with us forever. We were encouraged that we must develop our intimacy and communion with the Holy Spirit so that His GIFTS (1 Corinthians 12:7-12), and His Fruit (Galatians 5:21-22) will operate and manifest through us. If we are guided by the Holy Spirit we will have favor, success, revitalization, healing, and restoration through the challenges of life and work.

As we close the Holy Spirit Emphasis Week we praise God for His wonderful mercies to minister to us through His servant, and uplifting us towards a life that will honor and glorify God.

Holy Spirit Emphasis Week at Partners in Hope

Partners in Hope as a Christ-centered organization, is deeply committed not only to providing quality healthcare services but also to serving God in all that we do. We believe that God leads us in caring for our patients and in guiding our staff in their daily responsibilities.

This week, we are observing our Holy Spirit Emphasis Week, a special time of spiritual reflection and renewal. We were honored to be joined by Pastor Ernest Kachelo Banda whose message focused on the theme: “Who is the Holy Spirit?” (John 16:13) .

In his teaching, Pastor Banda encouraged all PIH staff members to rely on the Holy Spirit, whom God has placed within us. He reminded us that when the Holy Spirit intercedes in our lives, all things become possible, patients can receive healing beyond medical care and we are strengthened to overcome the challenges we face in life and in our work.

His message was a powerful reminder of the importance of faith, reliance on God and spiritual empowerment in our service.

The Holy Spirit Emphasis Week will conclude this coming Friday, marking the end of this impactful period of reflection and encouragement.

Let us continue to walk in faith, guided by the Holy Spirit, as we serve with compassion, dedication and excellence.

Partners in Hope through its Spiritual Ministry team, organized a prayer retreat at Namoni Katengeza - Chongoni Lay Training Centre (CLTC) in Dedza.

The event kicked off last night (29th May 2026) with praise and worship, thanks giving. Today (30th May, 2026) the members of staff continued with prayer and fasting. The entire prayer program was saturated with the presence, the power and the glory of God.

Together we sought God’s guidance for PIH’s future, prayed for our leadership, staff and patients asking God for his healing and mercy. We also lifted Malawi’s leadership, economy, families and relatives in prayer.

In the pictures are some beautiful moments captured as we enjoyed God’s presence in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Partners in Hope yesterday (27 May 2026) received a donation of shielded face masks from Clara Kamanga Gondwe Founder & CEO of Brows and Lashes Beauty School and Parlour.

Dr. Agnes Moses the Executive Director for PIH thanked the donor noting the masks came at the right time and will play a vital role in the theatre and operating rooms.

Clara said she was inspired to donate such items after seeing doctors use similar masks during her sister’s surgery.

We are truly grateful for this timely and generous support. May God continue to bless her and grant her success in all her endeavors🙏
