A veces estabas:
• dando demasiado
• tratando de entender
• intentando ayudar

Sometimes the red flags weren’t ignored because you were “stupid.”

Sometimes you were:
• over-giving
• trying to understand
• trying to help
• trying to love harder
• trying to keep the peace

Some people learned to attach through usefulness instead of safety.

And when helping becomes your identity…
you may stay in situations your nervous system already knew were hurting you.

The helper’s nervous system often says:
“If I love enough, fix enough, or sacrifice enough… maybe I’ll finally feel safe.”

But healing also means learning:
🚩 Red flags are information.
Not invitations to over-prove your love.

Different doesn’t mean less.
Neurodivergent minds deserve understanding, support, and spaces where they can thrive not just survive.

Autism is not a lack of emotion, intelligence, or connection.
It is a different way of experiencing the world.

Many autistic individuals spend years masking, overstimulated, misunderstood, or pressured to fit into environments that were never designed with their nervous system in mind.

Support can look like:
🧩 patience instead of punishment
🎧 sensory accommodations
📋 structure and predictability
💜 accepting special interests
🗣️ communication without shame
🌈 allowing authenticity without forcing masking

The goal is not to make neurodivergent people appear “normal.”
The goal is helping them feel safe enough to be fully themselves.

Every child and adult deserves to feel:
✨ seen
✨ valued
✨ understood
✨ included

“Why can’t I stop thinking about it?”

Because betrayal trauma often keeps the nervous system stuck in survival mode.

The brain replays painful situations trying to answer:
“How did someone I trusted become emotionally unsafe?”

That replay can look like:
• overthinking
• hypervigilance
• self-blame
• emotional exhaustion
• scanning for danger
• difficulty trusting others

Sometimes confusion is not dysfunction.
Sometimes it’s the nervous system trying to survive.

A lie does not only hurt emotionally it can affect the brain, nervous system, body, and sense of safety. When someone we trust lies to us, the brain often reacts as if there is danger inside the relationship. This can lead to anxiety, overthinking, emotional pain, hypervigilance, self-doubt, sleep issues, and even physical stress symptoms. Betrayal trauma is real because the body grieves not only the person, but the loss of emotional safety connected to them.

Welcome to my new series on Betrayal trauma it is NOT just heartbreak.

When someone you trusted becomes emotionally unsafe, your nervous system can react like it’s in danger.

That’s why betrayal can create:
• panic
• hypervigilance
• obsessive thinking
• sleep issues
• emotional numbness
• stomach problems
• distrust

Your body is not only grieving the person.
It’s grieving the loss of safety attached to the relationship.

Sometimes the body reacts to betrayal like it survived an accident.

Parenting is not about being perfect it is about being present, emotionally aware, and willing to grow. Children learn far more from what we model than from what we say. They watch how we speak to ourselves, how we handle stress, how we love, apologize, regulate emotions, and recover from difficult moments. Becoming the best parent often begins with becoming the healthiest version of yourself first. Therapy can help you understand your triggers, heal unresolved wounds, improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, and create healthier patterns for both you and your children. When we as parents begin healing ourselves, we often create safer, calmer, and more connected homes where children can truly thrive.
