🌿 Living a Ta***ic Life

What does it actually mean to live a ta***ic life?

For me, it has become so much more than s*xuality. Over the past 12 years, Ta**ra has been a way of meeting **all of life** — relationships, community, intimacy, conflict, boundaries, polarity, joy, pain, and the places within myself that still ask to be seen.

I've discovered that the real teaching isn't always found in books or teachings. **Life itself becomes the teacher.**

Tonight I'll be sharing some of my own experiences of living in ta***ic communities and relationships — the beauty, the challenges, the contradictions, and the freedom that can emerge when we stop compartmentalizing spirituality from the rest of our lives.

This isn't about perfection. It's about becoming more whole, more present, and more alive.

**Be mindful not only of those who condemn you, but also of those who place you on a pedestal.**

Both can create unhealthy power dynamics.

Condemnation says, *"I'm above you."*

Idealization says, *"You're above me."*

Neither allows us to meet as equals.

One diminishes another through judgment.
The other gives away one's own authority through projection.

Healthy relationships are built on mutual respect—not superiority or inferiority.

See people clearly.
Appreciate their gifts.
Acknowledge their humanity.

No pedestals.
No condemnation.

Just two human beings, learning, growing, and relating with honesty.

One of the deepest shifts I've witnessed in my own life has been learning to honour my truth in every moment, while not allowing my emotions to dictate how I express it.

For me, authenticity no longer means saying everything the moment I feel it. Sometimes the most honest thing I can do is pause, allow my emotions to settle, and speak from a place of clarity rather than reactivity.

I've also come to realize that honouring my truth may create discomfort for someone else. That discomfort isn't always a sign that I've done something wrong. Equally, their discomfort doesn't give me permission to abandon compassion or neutrality.

I'm learning that it's possible to hold both: to remain true to myself without needing to defend, convince, or attack, and to allow others the space to have their own experience.

Truth spoken through emotional charge often creates resistance. Truth spoken through presence has the potential to create understanding.

This is a practice I'm still learning every day, but it has transformed the way I communicate—with others and with myself.

If you no longer had to earn love... how would you relate differently?

Not, "What would women do differently?"

What would you do differently?

Would you speak your truth sooner?

Would you stop abandoning yourself to keep the peace?

Would you ask for what you need without apologizing?

Would you stop trying to rescue someone who isn't asking to be rescued?

Would you walk away when your values no longer align, instead of hoping someone will change?

Would you trust that love doesn't need to be chased, earned, or convinced?

Perhaps the deepest shift in relationships isn't learning how to understand the opposite s*x...

It's remembering that your worth was never dependent on someone else's approval.

When you stop trying to earn love, you finally become free to express it.

For a long time, I believed a relationship would fill something that was missing in me.

I longed for connection.
For belonging.
For love.
For affection.

But if I'm honest, part of me was also hoping someone else would quiet the parts of myself I hadn't yet learned to sit with.

Over time, I began to see something.

No relationship can sustainably carry the weight of our own healing.

That isn't what love is for.

The more I've learned to slow down...
to enjoy my own company...
to cultivate gratitude...
to create a life that already feels meaningful...

The less I look for someone to complete me.

Instead, I look forward to the day I can simply share what is already overflowing.

Not because I need rescuing.

Not because I need someone to make me feel whole.

But because love feels so much more beautiful when it becomes an expression of a full heart, rather than an attempt to fill an empty one.

Maybe the deepest relationships aren't about finding someone to complete us.

Maybe they're about two people who are learning to be at home within themselves... choosing to walk the path together.

🌿

What if love isn't about finding the missing piece...

What if it's about finding someone who inspires you to express more of who you already are?

**For a long time, I thought freedom meant having more.**

More success.
More money.
More recognition.
More experiences.

And I believed I had to keep striving to get there.

Ironically, that mindset became its own prison.

In the past, I let go of alcohol and cannabis because I felt I had to. There was shame. Guilt. Pressure. A sense that I needed fixing.

This time is different.

I'm not walking away from anything.

I'm walking *towards* something.

Towards a slower life.
Towards deeper presence.
Towards the quiet knowing that I don't have to earn my worth.

I don't need to prove that I'm successful someday.

I already have everything I need to experience abundance:
a healthy body,
meaningful work,
food on my table,
people I love,
the beauty of nature,
and another sunrise to wake up to.

From that place, something became very clear...

The habits I once called "celebration" were also keeping me in a subtle loop.

Not because they made me a bad person.
Not because I was broken.

But because they kept me just disconnected enough from the fullness of this moment.

For me, freedom isn't about deprivation.

It's about becoming so deeply rooted in gratitude that I no longer need an escape from my own life.

The slower I move...
the more grounded I become.

The more grounded I become...
the more abundant life feels.

Maybe true freedom isn't found in chasing more.

Maybe it's found in finally realizing that, underneath all the conditioning, you were enough all along.

For decades I thought alcohol was the problem.

What I've come to realise is that alcohol was often the symptom.

Underneath it was shame.
A fear of slowing down.
A belief that I had to keep proving my worth.
And the idea that after working hard, I'd earned a drink.

That reward became a loop.

Instead of feeling my emotions, I numbed them.
Instead of processing them, I postponed them.

The more disconnected I became from myself, the more I reached for the thing that promised relief.

The turning point wasn't simply deciding to stop drinking.

It was recognising the pattern underneath it.

Awareness was the key.

If any part of this resonates with you, know that you're not alone. Healing doesn't begin with shame—it begins with curiosity.

What's one pattern you've recognised in your own life that changed everything?

15/06/2026

What if wholeness isn't about becoming someone new, but about welcoming home the parts of yourself you've been taught to hide?

So many of us carry guilt, shame, fear, and old stories that keep us from expressing our full truth. We learn to suppress certain emotions, desires, gifts, and aspects of our nature in order to belong, be accepted, or stay safe.

The Hearthfire Workshop is an invitation to gather around the inner fire and reconnect with the forgotten, rejected, and hidden parts of ourselves. Through reflection, connection, and embodied practice, we'll explore what it means to live from a place of greater authenticity, integration, and wholeness.

There is nothing wrong with you that needs fixing. There may simply be parts of you waiting to be seen, heard, and welcomed back into the circle.

Join us tomorrow around the Hearthfire. 🔥
