We are actually happy the World Cup is over.

Not because we didn't enjoy it—we absolutely did. But it left us thinking about the old phrase: "Divide and conquer."
What surprised us the most wasn't the football. It was the amount of hatred. The endless "anti-this" and "anti-that." People cheering not because they loved a team, but because they desperately wanted another one to lose.

How easily the media can shape narratives. How quickly the masses repeat them without stopping to think.
Support your country. Celebrate your team, or your friend´s team! That's what sports are about.
But hating another team simply because they're or do better? Despising a player because he scored against you? Dragging politics, historical resentment, and meaningless attacks into something that should inspire us... that's something else entirely.
To me, sports are about witnessing human excellence. They are a celebration of what discipline, relentless training, mental strength, sacrifice, and perseverance can achieve. Whether it's your team or not, greatness deserves admiration.
When we're unable to recognize excellence—or feel the need to diminish it—we're revealing more about ourselves than about the athlete or team.
We can only give what we are. We can only see the world through the lens of our own minds. In the end, we project ourselves.
Watching so many Latin Americans attack another Latin American country that reached the final, and one of the greatest players of all time, made me reflect.
To us, it's part of why Latin America often struggles. We are too busy tearing each other down instead of celebrating each other's success.

What struck me even more was the contradiction. In our lovely Mexico, we often hear passionate speeches about defending our roots and condemning the Conquest. Yet on Sunday, many of those same voices were passionately supporting Spain—simply because it meant rooting against a fellow Latin American nation. (and don´t get us wrong, Spain has a great team!)

Apparently, history matters... until it doesn't.

That kind of selective outrage, that unnecessary hatred, is what truly saddens me.
Sports should bring out the best in us. They should remind us that human beings are capable of extraordinary things, and inspire us to become better versions of ourselves.
Instead, too often, they become just another excuse to divide.
We hope, we KNOW we can do better.

What is the purpose of life?

We asked Dada — a Swami with 25+ years of dedicated practice — and this is what he said.
He has an ashram in Guatemala: .maya.ashram, and he travels the world to spread his teachings.

At Paraiso Yoga School we are lucky to have him as part of our family. And soon, you'll have the chance to learn directly from him, from home.

Something is coming. Stay tuned.
