Y hay personas que te enseñan a ser mejor médico.
En el Hospital de Medicina China de Nanjing tuve el privilegio de observar y aprender junto al Dr. Xiaocun Yang — maestro del área de acupuntura y uno de los clínicos más completos que he tenido el honor de conocer en mis 20 años de práctica integrativa.
Lo que viví a su lado fue una lección que va mucho más allá de la técnica.
Tres cosas que me enseñó sin decirlas con palabras:
→ La paciencia es parte del tratamiento.
→ La acupuntura es un diálogo — no un protocolo de puntos.
→ La humanidad con que tratas a tu paciente sana tanto como cualquier aguja.
La calidez sana. La presencia sana. 🌿
Dr. Yang, gracias por su generosidad, su tiempo y su ejemplo.
Todo lo que aprendí en esa sala clínica regresa a Huatulco.

Lo que viví a su lado en esa sala clínica fue una lección que va mucho más allá de la técnica.
Tres cosas que el Dr. Yang me enseñó sin decirlas con palabras:
→ La paciencia es parte del tratamiento. Un médico que se apresura no puede escuchar lo que el cuerpo realmente dice.
→ La acupuntura no es un protocolo de puntos — es un diálogo preciso entre el clínico, el cuerpo del paciente y los principios de la MTC clásica.
→ La humanidad con que tratas a tu paciente es tan terapéutica como cualquier aguja. La calidez sana. La presencia sana.
Observar sus consultas fue observar la medicina en su estado más puro — ciencia, intuición clínica y profundo respeto por el ser humano, todo integrado en un mismo acto terapéutico.

Hoy recibí de manos del Dr. Huang Huang mi certificado de especialización en Jing Fang — Medicina Clásica China — en la Universidad de Medicina China de Nanjing.
Today I received from the hands of Dr. Huang Huang my specialization certificate in Jing Fang — Classical Chinese Medicine — at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine.

No tengo palabras suficientes para describir lo que se siente estar frente a uno de los maestros más grandes de la medicina clásica china y recibir de sus manos el reconocimiento a semanas de estudio intensivo, de escuchar con el alma abierta, de aprender con humildad genuina.
There are no words enough to describe what it feels like to stand before one of the greatest masters of classical Chinese medicine and receive from his hands the recognition of weeks of intensive study — of listening with an open soul, of learning with genuine humility.

En ese momento, todo convergió:
In that moment, everything converged:

El orgullo de haber llegado hasta aquí.
The pride of having come this far.

La gratitud profunda hacia cada maestro, cada colega, cada paciente que ha sido parte de este camino.

Esta semana tuve el privilegio de estar frente al Dr. Huang Huang — uno de los clínicos e investigadores más importantes de Jing Fang en el mundo, maestro de la Universidad de Medicina China de Nanjing y autor de obras de referencia global en Medicina Tradicional China. Entrar a su laboratorio fue entrar a un espacio donde la sabiduría clásica y la medicina clínica moderna conviven con una naturalidad asombrosa. Cada fórmula, cada texto, cada caso clínico sobre esa mesa tiene detrás siglos de observación y miles de pacientes reales. Lo que más me impactó no fue solo la profundidad de su conocimiento. Fue su humildad. Su generosidad al enseñar. Esta semana tuve el privilegio de estar frente al Dr. Huang Huang — uno de los clínicos e investigadores más importantes de Jing Fang en el mundo, maestro de la Universidad de Medicina China de Nanjing y autor de obras de referencia global en Medicina Tradicional China.
This week I had the privilege of learning directly from Dr. Huang Huang — one of the world’s foremost clinicians and in Jing Fang, professor at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and author of globally referenced works in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Entrar a su laboratorio fue entrar a un espacio donde la sabiduría clásica y la medicina clínica moderna conviven con una naturalidad asombrosa. Cada fórmula, cada texto, cada caso clínico sobre esa mesa tiene detrás siglos de observación y miles de pacientes reales.
Entering his laboratory was entering a space where classical wisdom and modern clinical medicine coexist with remarkable naturalness. Every formula, every text, every clinical case on that table carries centuries of observation and thousands of real patients behind it.

Lo que más me impactó no fue solo la profundidad de su conocimiento.
What moved me most was not only the depth of his knowledge.
Fue su humildad. Su generosidad al enseñar.

Un maestro de su calibre que se detiene, que explica, que comparte con apertura genuina cada detalle de su método clínico — eso no se encuentra en cualquier lugar del mundo. Eso solo existe cuando alguien ha dedicado su vida entera al servicio del conocimiento y del paciente.
A teacher of his caliber who pauses, who explains, who openly shares every detail of his clinical method — that is not found everywhere in the world. That only exists when someone has dedicated their entire life to the service of knowledge and the patient.

Me senté en ese aula con 20 años de práctica integrativa en el corazón y con la certeza de que aún hay mundos por descubrir. Esa es la actitud que le debo a mis pacientes — la humildad de seguir aprendiendo sin importar cuánto se ha recorrido.
I sat in that classroom with 20 years of integrative practice in my heart and the certainty that there are still worlds to discover. That is the attitude I owe my patients — the humility to keep learning no matter how far the journey has come.

The first day that changes everything.
Hay momentos que sabes, desde que los vives, que no olvidarás jamás. Hoy fue uno de ellos.
Esta mañana pisé por primera vez los pasillos de la Universidad de Medicina China de Nanjing. Imponente. Viva. Con siglos de sabiduría respirando en cada rincón.
La ceremonia de bienvenida fue un recordatorio solemne de lo que significa ser médico — la responsabilidad que llevamos, el privilegio de aprender de los mejores.
Con el corazón lleno de gratitud, entendí con claridad por qué estoy aquí:

This morning I walked the halls of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine for the first time. Imposing. Alive. Centuries of wisdom in every corner.
The welcome ceremony reminded me deeply of what it means to be a physician — the responsibility we carry, the privilege of learning from the best.
