No, no es una broma del 1 de abril. Mi primera novela, “Los Inválidos” vuelve a estar disponible para los lectores.
Publicada por primera vez en 2005 por Editorial Diana de Editorial Planeta, fue más tarde reeditada por Penguin Random House, que la honró con una edición de bolsillo y la publicó también en España.
Apareció discretamente, sin ceremonias ni promoción, y aprendió desde temprano a sobrevivir por sí sola. Contra todo pronóstico y a pesar de haber sido víctima de los reacomodos de la industria editorial, perduró —circulando sin presentaciones (ni una sola) ni festivales, ni redes sociales, sin la maquinaria que suele impulsar a un libro.
Incluso permaneció fuera de circulación durante un tiempo, sobreviviendo únicamente en ejemplares de segunda mano y, en ocasiones, en versiones no autorizadas —un recordatorio de cómo las historias continúan viajando incluso cuando ni sus autores ni sus editoriales las acompañan.
Esta nueva edición de “Los Inválidos” pretende devolver al lector una versión autorizada y fiel. Incluye además una nota de autor inédita.

No, this is not an April Fool’s joke. My first novel, Les Invalides, is once again available to readers.
First published in 2005 by Editorial Diana (Editorial Planeta), it was later reissued by Penguin Random House, which honored it with a paperback edition and also published it in Spain.
It appeared quietly, without ceremony or promotion, and from the very beginning learned to survive on its own. Against all odds — and despite being caught in the shifting tides of the publishing industry — it endured, circulating without book launches (not a single one), festivals, or social media, without the machinery that usually propels a book forward.
At times, it even fell out of circulation, surviving only through secondhand copies and, occasionally, unauthorized versions — a reminder of how stories continue to travel even when neither their authors nor their publishers accompany them.
This new edition of Les Invalides seeks to return to readers an authorized and faithful version. It also includes a previously unpublished author’s note.
