👂 “Just a crackling sound…”
That’s what the patient thought.
Even tried cleaning it out with a cotton bud… but the sound didn’t stop.
So we took a closer look inside the ear 👀
—and found something unexpected.
🕷️ A tiny spider-like insect… alive inside the ear canal, cleverly hiding in the anterior recess.
So small… it was barely visible even with the endoscope.
Every movement it made?
That was the “crackling” the patient kept hearing.
Management: The insect was first immobilized using lignocaine spray, then carefully suctioned out.
✔️ No more sound
✔️ No more insect
✔️ Immediate relief
⚠️ Lesson:
If your ear feels unusual — crackling, crawling, movement — don’t ignore it.
And definitely don’t poke around with cotton buds.
Sometimes… it’s not just wax.😆
