Why can’t you exercise after rhinoplasty? 👃
Exercising too early can:
1️⃣ Increase your heart rate and blood pressure → increasing the risk of bleeding from the nose
2️⃣ Increase blood flow to the nose → making your nose stay swollen for longer
3️⃣ Affect the healing process → your incision, sutures and grafts are still healing, with additional risk of accidental trauma during sports
As a general guide:
🚶 2–3 weeks: Light exercise
Brisk walking, easy stationary cycling and gentle low-intensity workouts
🏋️ 4–6 weeks: Gradually return to more intense exercise
Running, weight training, CrossFit, HYROX, tennis, football and basketball
Remember, even if your nose looks and feels fine on the outside, it’s still healing underneath.
Recovery varies depending on the surgery, so always follow your surgeon’s advice.
