⏪ 30 tahun dahulu, kanak-kanak:
• Bermain di luar rumah setiap hari. ⛹️
• Mempunyai ramai rakan bermain.👬

Putting a baby to bed with a bottle of milk or juice might seem like a soothing way to help them drift off, but it is a primary risk factor for a serious dental condition known as Baby Bottle Tooth Decay. This condition occurs when the sugars present in almost all beverages except water—including breast milk, formula, and fruit juices—linger in a sleeping infant's mouth. As the baby sleeps, these liquids pool behind the front teeth, creating a breeding ground for harmful bacteria. These bacteria metabolize the sugars to create acids that aggressively dissolve the tooth enamel, which is significantly thinner and more fragile in infants than in adults.
The danger is magnified at night because the body's natural defense mechanism, saliva, slows down during sleep. Without enough saliva to rinse away the acidic buildup, the teeth remain bathed in sugar for hours at a time. If left untreated, this "silent" decay can lead to painful infections, difficulty eating, and even premature tooth loss. Because primary teeth serve as critical placeholders for adult teeth, their early loss can result in future speech delays and crooked permanent teeth. Pediatric dentists recommend a "bottle-free" bedtime routine: ensure the baby finishes their feeding before being placed in the crib, and gently wipe their gums with a clean, damp cloth to remove any remaining sugar residue before they sleep.

Bila baca buku setengah muka surat, terus hilang fokus, cepat distracted.
Bila disuruh pilih baju, dia buntu, macam otak ‘freeze’.

Ibu ayah mula risau.

Apa Sebenarnya Berlaku Pada Otak Anak?

Menurut kajian AAP, NIH & Harvard:

Kanak-kanak yang selalu terdedah kepada:

- video laju
- animasi warna terlalu terang
- short-form content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
akan mengalami “dopamine spikes” yang terlalu cepat. Otak kecil mereka tak sempat proses, jadi ketagih rangsangan pantas.

Bila datang aktiviti perlahan seperti membaca, bermain biasa, menulis, otak rasa bosan, penat, tak tahu nak mula.

Inilah punca kenapa mereka:
❌ susah decide
❌ susah fokus
❌ cepat meltdown

5 Punca Utama “Brain Rot Behaviour” Pada Kanak-Kanak

1. Stimulasi digital berlebihan
Otak terpaksa kejar dopamine daripada video laju → attention span merosot.

2. Kurang tidur
Tidur tak cukup ganggu prefrontal cortex (bahagian fokus & emosi).

3. Makanan tinggi gula & ultra-processed
Gut tak sihat → mood mudah swing & otak sukar regulate emosi.

4. Kurang permainan dunia sebenar
Otak perlukan sensory play, bukan sekadar visual 2D pada skrin.

5. Kurang komunikasi & interaksi manusia
Eye contact, percakapan & sentuhan merangsang perkembangan bahasa & emosi.

Anak bukan “malas”. Anak bukan “degil”. Kadang-kadang otak mereka hanya terlalu penat dikejar rangsangan digital.

Ibu ayah perlu:
✅ seimbangkan masa skrin
✅ pastikan anak tidur mencukupi
✅ sediakan makanan sebenar, bukan makanan proses
✅ beri ruang untuk bermain di dunia nyata
✅luangkan masa berbual, bercerita & berinteraksi

Kurangkan skrin. Tambah kasih sayang.
