As the month of mental health awareness draws to a close, it’s worth remembering the importance of continuing to understand ourselves - not by changing what we feel, but by learning to stay with it a little longer 🩵

Self-witnessing is not about analysing every thought or finding the “right” explanation. It is the quiet act of allowing our experiences to be seen, without rushing to minimise, dismiss, or move past them too quickly.

In that space, something shifts. What once felt vague or overwhelming can begin to feel a little more understandable, simply because it has been acknowledged.

This Mother’s Day, our ILC children took part in a flower bouquet DIY session — creating handmade paper vases and thoughtful flower arrangements for their mothers. 💐

Through child-led creative play, the children explored choice-making, problem-solving, self-expression, and sustained attention in ways that felt meaningful to them.

Every arrangement was unique, intentional, and made with love — just like the care mothers give every day. 💛

In appreciation of the nurturing, patience, and support that mothers carry so deeply, this one is from our kids to all moms out there.

Happy Mother’s Day from Inclusive Learning Club 🌷

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are inspired by conversations around survival through depression and trauma, and are permitted to share how journaling became a powerful space of expression, self-witnessing, and gradual healing - through the lived experience of an anonymous writer.

What began as a simple daily commitment to write one entry a day, at the height of depression, loneliness, and emotional pain, slowly became something far more grounding — a way to survive when everything else felt uncertain.

Journaling became a private space where emotions could exist freely — unfiltered, unjudged, and real. It became:
❤️‍🩹 a way to process overwhelming emotions,
🔎 a mirror for self-understanding,
⚓️ an anchor through turbulent seasons,
✍🏼quiet proof of survival through years of struggle.

Sometimes healing does not begin with answers.
Sometimes it begins with allowing our experiences to be held and witnessed by ourselves. 👈

This Mental Health Awareness Month, may we each find spaces where our experiences can be held safely and seen as they are.

What if journaling was never meant to be neat, consistent, or “good”? ✍️📝

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re rethinking what journaling really is — not a performance, but a space to be honest, messy, unfinished, and human.

Journaling can look like:
– voice notes at 2am
– scattered thoughts in your notes app
– messy handwriting
– one sentence on a difficult day
– words you never show anyone else

👉 It does not have to be perfect to matter.
Sometimes, it simply becomes a place to hold what feels too heavy to carry alone.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unable to explain what you’re feeling, consider this your reminder: you do not need the right words to begin.
👉 You only need permission to express.

This Mental Health Month, we encourage you to start or return to journaling; gently, imperfectly, and in your own way 🌱

Part 2 coming next: a lived story of survival and self-witnessing through journaling.

What if stress management at work went beyond strategies and into awareness?

In our Rethinking Stress workshop, participants engaged in an experiential process of understanding stress:
• Mapping stress and personal resources
• Recognising early stress signatures
• Exploring expression through coffee-based art

The process of creating and sharing allowed participants to reflect more deeply through shades, texture and movement of coffee, gain perspective from others, and rediscover strengths within themselves and their teams.

A reminder that meaningful stress work isn’t just taught - it’s experienced.

Sometimes what looks like struggling behaviour… is actually a skill that hasn’t been developed yet.

Many young children today struggle with:
➡️ big emotional reactions
➡️ difficulty staying focused
➡️ finding it hard to adapt to change

At Brain Builder, we support children in building and strengthening these skills:
🧠 emotional regulation
🧠 focus & attention
🧠 flexibility - navigate changes confidently

Through guided, hands-on learning experiences that children can apply and translate in everyday life!

From classroom practice to real-life learning! 🛒✨

Our Inclusive Learning Club (ILC) took learning beyond the classroom- from planning a grocery list, choosing ingredients, handling money, and navigate real world environments together.
