Heart disease remains a major health concern in Malaysia.

In 2024, ischaemic heart disease was the leading cause of death in Malaysia, accounting for 17,421 deaths. Ischaemic heart disease occurs when the blood vessels supplying the heart become narrowed or blocked, reducing the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle.

So, what can we do to help reduce our risk?

In this video, Consultant Cardiologist, Dr Shah, talks about how running can help reduce the risk of heart disease and why making regular exercise part of your lifestyle can benefit your heart.

This September, put that into action with our 150 Minutes of Movement Challenge! 🏃‍♀️❤️ Get moving for your heart, and you could also stand a chance to win 1 of 5 Heart Screening Packages with a Stress Test.

We are proud to share that Consultant Thoracic Surgeon, Dr Narasimman Sathiamurthy, was invited to speak at the IX International Forum of Oncology and Radiotherapy – FORLIFE 2026, held in Moscow from 14–18 September.

FORLIFE is a major multidisciplinary oncology forum in Russia and the Eurasian region, bringing together specialists to exchange knowledge, clinical experiences and advances in cancer care.

As part of the Thoracoabdominal Oncology Symposium, Dr Narasimman delivered two presentations on:
• Non-Intubated Tracheal Surgery
• Extended Resection and Reconstruction of Chest Wall Tumours

Beyond the presentations, the forum provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives with leading thoracic surgeons from Russia, including Prof Andrey B. Ryabov, Prof Vladimir A. Porkhanov and Prof Vladimir D. Parshin.

At Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, we believe that meaningful advances in patient care come not only from innovation, but also from sharing knowledge, learning from one another and building meaningful collaborations across borders.

We are proud to see the expertise and experience of our specialists contributing to these international conversations in thoracic oncology.
