Because **syphilis can be present before you realise anything is wrong.**

The first clue may be nothing more than a **tiny, painless sore** โ€” easy to miss and easy to ignore. It may even heal by itself.

Weeks later, other signs may appear:

Ever wondered why your doctor may request **RPR AND TPHA** when checking for syphilis?

๐Ÿ”ต **RPR** helps **screen for possible infection** and can also be used to monitor response to treatment.

๐Ÿ”ด **TPHA** is a **more specific test** that helps confirm antibodies against the bacteria that causes syphilis.

A positive screening result doesnโ€™t always tell the whole story. Your results need to be interpreted together with your symptoms, medical history and timing of possible exposure.
