Dr. Hoo Yin Shi Dr. Hoo Yin Shi is a Dental Surgeon with special interest in minimally invasive aesthetic and preven She is now registered as a qualified dentist in Australia.

Dr. Hoo graduated from the National University of Malaysia with a Gold Medal Award (Best All-Round Student) in year 2009. Besides, she was the recipient of the Honor Scholarship Award (2004-2005) which was awarded to the top achiever of the faculty. In June 2013, Dr Hoo completed all written and oral examinations for admission into the Australian Dental Council (ADC). In July 2014, Dr Hoo was admi

tted as a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, MFDS RCS (Edin) through a series of examination. Dr Hoo was certified as an Invisalign doctor in March 2013, after attending the certification course organized by Invisalign. Dr Hoo is currently attending a number of certificate courses for dental implantology. In June 2014, she completed a course in Boston, USA with the International Team of Implantology (ITI). Besides being a firm believer of evidence based dentistry, Dr. Hoo is a keen researcher. She has received a Gold Medal for winning SEAADE-GC Dental Asia Student Prevention Table Clinician Competition in year 2009. Most recently, she was awarded the Best Presenter Award in oral presentation at CDA/MDA Joint International Scientific Convention (2012). Prior to private practice, Dr. Hoo was appointed as a Dental Officer in the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry by Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Besides her hospital based experience, she has worked along with other specialists which gave her the opportunities to practice all aspects of dentistry and to serve people of diverse cultures. Dr. Hoo has been actively involved in organizing dental conferences to benefit the profession and volunteered in several dental health promotion campaigns.

Our conversation revolved around the future of Invisalign, digital dentistry, patient experience, and how technology will continue to transform the way we create smiles.

As we discussed emerging trends, innovation, and the next chapter of digital dentistry, I found myself reflecting on how much our profession has evolved over the past decade.

From simply aligning teeth to designing smiles, enhancing facial aesthetics, improving function, and ultimately changing lives.

The future of dentistry isn’t just digital.

It’s human, personalized, and experience-driven.

I’m grateful to be part of a profession that continues to evolve, innovate, and create meaningful impact for our patients every day.

Touched down in Vilnius after 21 hours of flying ✈️

First stop was straight to traditional Lithuanian food 🇱🇹

Cepelinai — Lithuania’s iconic potato dumplings stuffed with meat, shaped like little zeppelins and usually served with sour cream and crispy bacon bits.

Virtiniai — Lithuanian dumplings filled with meat, softer and lighter than pierogi.

Šaltibarščiai — the famous bright pink cold beetroot soup made with kefir, beetroot, cucumber, and dill, served with warm potatoes on the side. Refreshing, creamy, slightly tangy, and honestly one of my favourite dishes here already.

On our last day in Iceland, it started snowing. ❄️

The night before, flights had been getting cancelled because of the weather, and the whole city felt wrapped in this quiet winter stillness.

When morning came, Reykjavik was completely covered in snow. The streets looked softer, the air felt calmer, and everything seemed to slow down for a moment.

It felt like Iceland was giving us one final goodbye
one last beautiful scene before we left.

A trip filled with waterfalls, black sand beaches, icy winds, and landscapes that looked untouched by time ending in a snow covered Reykjavik felt almost too perfect. 🤍

2026 is the year of becoming. ✨

Becoming the best version of myself.

Very grateful to for the opportunity to speak at the launch of iTero Lumina in Malaysia during the Digital Aesthetic Masterclass together with Dr. .

Our first time sharing the stage together, doing it in a talk show / stand up comedian style exactly the way I imagined it to be — educational, inspiring, spontaneous, full of laughter and heart. Thank you for letting me be the “director” of the show. 🎭

And happy to share the stage with such an incredible lineup of speakers, many of whom have become close friends I’ve met along this journey.

Sometimes I think that’s the beauty of this profession. We come together because of dentistry, but along the way, we become more of ourselves through the people we meet, the stories we share, and the lives we touch. 🤍

We continued the journey past the filming location of Dr. Mann’s scene in Interstellar - Svínafellsjökull Glacier.

We stopped by Skeiðará Bridge Monument. Twisted steel remains of the bridge, torn apart by the 1996 jökulhlaup after the eruption beneath Vatnajökull, a quiet but powerful reminder of nature’s force.

And then, the final stop — Fjaðrárgljúfur.

Fjaðrárgljúfur isn’t dramatic in a loud way. Carved out over thousands of years by glacial meltwater, this canyon stretches about 2 km long, with steep cliffs rising up to ~100 meters. What makes it so special isn’t just the scale, it’s the shape. The canyon winds like a ribbon, with the Fjaðrá river flowing softly below, creating that dreamy, serpentine view from above.

Snow began to fall as we climbed. And at the top — a view that didn’t feel real, yet something I’ll never forget 🤍
