Childhood Cancer Caring Society of KL (CARES)
is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, formed by parents whose kids have had cancer, medical professionals and caring volunteers.

13/5/2026 : In recognition of Nurses Day, CARES organized a thoughtful gesture for the dedicated nursing staff of Ward P5A and the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit. Cakes were purchased and shared among the teams, symbolizing gratitude for their tireless service. This celebration fostered camaraderie and reinforced the value of nurses as the backbone of patient care.

To extend compassion and inclusivity, CARES also organized a lucky draw specifically for mothers of cancer patients. This initiative acknowledged the resilience and emotional strength of mothers who stand by their children during treatment.

6/5/2026 : In celebration of Mother’s Day, CARES gifted handmade crafts to seven patients, with some also receiving balloons as a cheerful surprise.

29/4/2026 : Today, 18 patients and their caregivers were treated to a delightful feast of yummylicious, fragrant Chicken Briyani rice, bringing smiles and comfort to all who received it.

The joy didn’t stop there—each was also gifted a pack of assorted confectionery, adding a sweet surprise to brighten their day.

• General Observation: Majority of patients were resting/sleeping due to treatment.
• Special Cases: 3 patients were with out-of-bound notice.
• Activities & Gifts:• All patients received CARES party t-shirts.
• One patient was given a mini craft item.
• An 18-year-old patient received a birthday gift and balloon.

Overall Summary: The day was smooth and positive, with thoughtful gestures that brought smiles to patients/care givers.

• 🍕 A mixture of Domino’s Hawaiian Pizza and Vegetarian Pizza, catering to diverse tastes.
• 🍗 Crispy Chicken Crunchies, adding a savory crunch to the feast.
• 🍬 A packet of assorted confectionery, bringing sweetness and color to the celebration.
• 🎁 A thoughtful gift, symbolizing appreciation and festive cheer.

The combination of savory, sweet, and heartfelt gestures created a warm and memorable atmosphere, perfectly embodying the CARES tradition of sharing and caring.
