Dr. Ng Lay Hui is a dedicated and experienced ophthalmologist with a strong foundation in both clinical excellence and academic contribution. She obtained her Master of Ophthalmology from Universiti Malaya — graduating as the Best Student UM — and completed her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universiti Putra Malaysia, reflecting her longstanding commitment to academic distinction and professional growth.

With over a decade of experience in comprehensive ophthalmology, Dr. Ng has developed particular expertise in:
• Cataract surgery
• Ocular trauma and ophthalmic emergencies
• Glaucoma management
• Retinal diseases and diabetic retinopathy

Her clinical career spans several major public hospitals and health institutions across Malaysia, including Hospital Segamat (where she serves as Head of Department), Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah, Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (Klang), Hospital Serdang, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, and Hospital Selayang. Throughout her service, she has been recognised for delivering meticulous, patient-centred care with a strong emphasis on safety, clarity, and long-term visual outcomes.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Ng is deeply committed to medical education, clinical research, and training. She regularly presents at international and national scientific conferences — earning prestigious accolades such as the Best Photo Award at the 12th COSC — and serves as a featured speaker training medical officers and paramedics. Additionally, she holds credentials as a Certified Medical Impairment Assessor (CMIA, NIOSH).

Dr. Ng also actively leads community outreach initiatives, frequently organising cataract camps, pterygium camps, public eye screening programmes for World Sight Day, and national eye health awareness campaigns. Her holistic approach — combining clinical precision, compassionate care, and educational leadership — resonates deeply with the core values of ISEC.

Dr Loh Ui Lyn is a dedicated and experienced ophthalmologist with a strong foundation in both clinical excellence and academic contribution. She obtained her Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from Universiti Sains Malaysia and graduated with First Class Honours in Doctor of Medicine (MD) from I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, Russia — reflecting her longstanding commitment to academic distinction and professional growth.

With over a decade of experience in comprehensive ophthalmology, Dr Loh has developed particular expertise in:

A meaningful day of giving sight and hope. ❤️

On 24 May 2026, ISEC, Rainbow Bridge , Carl Zeiss (M) Sdn Bhd, Mandarin Opto-Medic and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia came together for a charity eye screening at the ElShaddai Refugee Learning Centre in Klang.

A total of 365 underprivileged and refugee children received comprehensive eye screening, and 135 pairs of spectacles were provided to children who needed them, generously sponsored by ZEISS and Rainbow Bridge Malaysia.

Good vision plays an important role in a child’s learning, confidence and future. We are grateful to all the doctors, optometrists, volunteers and partners who contributed their time, expertise and resources to make this initiative possible.

Together, we may not be able to change everything—but for these children, a simple pair of spectacles can change the way they see the world. 👓✨

“Mushroom in the eye"

This foreign gentleman presented to our clinic with what appeared like a lump on his eye. This was due to a nasty fungal infection resulting in his cornea melted away. The surgeon in his home country did a conjunctival graft which struggled to hold back the content of his eye, resulting in mushroom appearance.

He underwent a cornea transplant with
anterior segment reconstruction followed by an amniotic graft by Dr Then Kong Yong, corneal specialist in ISEC, resulting in a more "normal" looking eye and saved his eyeball integrity.

“眼睛里长蘑菇”

这位外籍男士来到我们的诊所时，眼睛上看起来像长了一个肿块。实际上，这是由严重的真菌感染所导致，感染使他的角膜逐渐溶解坏死。由于病情非常严重，他原居住国家的眼科医生曾为他进行结膜移植手术，但移植组织无法有效支撑眼球内容物，最终形成了类似“蘑菇”般突出的外观。

随后，他接受了由国际眼科的角膜专科医生郑康勇医生（Dr Then Kong Yong）进行的角膜移植及眼前节重建手术，并进一步接受羊膜移植治疗。手术后，他的眼睛恢复了较为正常的外观，更重要的是成功保住了眼球的完整性。

“Cendawan di dalam mata”

Lelaki warga asing ini datang ke klinik kami dengan keadaan yang kelihatan seperti terdapat ketumbuhan pada matanya. Sebenarnya, keadaan ini berpunca daripada jangkitan kulat yang sangat teruk sehingga menyebabkan korneanya mencair dan rosak.

Oleh kerana jangkitan tersebut amat serius, pakar mata di negara asalnya telah melakukan pembedahan cantuman konjunktiva (conjunctival graft). Namun, cantuman itu tidak mampu menahan kandungan bola matanya dengan baik, lalu menyebabkan mata tersebut kelihatan menonjol seperti “cendawan”.

Beliau kemudiannya menjalani pembedahan pemindahan kornea (corneal transplant) bersama pembinaan semula segmen anterior mata (anterior segment reconstruction), diikuti dengan cantuman membran amnion (amniotic graft) yang dilakukan oleh Dr Then Kong Yong, pakar kornea di ISEC. Hasil rawatan tersebut, mata beliau kembali kelihatan lebih normal dan yang paling penting, integriti bola matanya berjaya diselamatkan.
