We are excited to welcome Dr Nazatul Sabariah Bt Ahmad, Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry, and a specialist with over 20 years of experience dedicated to children's oral health.

With specialist postgraduate training from the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London, Dr Nazatul brings extensive expertise in caring for children with a wide range of dental, behavioural and medical needs.

Beyond clinical care, she is deeply passionate about preventive dentistry and empowering children and families with the knowledge and practical skills to take charge of their oral health. Having completed Curaden iTOP Advanced training in 2025, she brings a personalised approach to effective oral hygiene instruction.

โ“Question: Your patient can't afford a crown, but a filling won't work. What do you do?

โœ…Answer: You take a mould, pouring the model using Die Silicone from VOCO GmbH - The Dentalists, build your composite onlay by hand and cure it outside the mouth, and cement your superior indirect-composite restoration on same day. ๐Ÿ‘

This little known but invaluable technique was what was taught to participants on the 10th of July this year by the one and only Prof Haikal, during his "Predictable Aesthetic and Functional Rehabilitation Using Semi-Direct Composite Technique" workshop held during the MAAP x MAD Joint Conference 2026!

Using VOCO's GrandioSO nanohybrid composite and special Die Silicone - silicone hard as rock - participants learned how to bridge the gap between a direct composite, and an indirect ceramic, providing another superior option for cases where ceramic is needed, but cannot be afforded by patients. And what a response!

We would like to thank IMU for providing a great venue, all the participants for coming to this workshop, as well as Prof Haikal for bringing more options to the Malaysian Dental fraternity to better treat our patients! Stay tuned for more workshops coming soon!
