KiTaRi Soil Energy Series Bodywork 08
From understanding the crease of the hip joint, we explored its mobility and how we can apply this awareness to our daily movement through swinging, stepping, travelling, and even dancing.
It is truly a step-by-step process.
From my TaiChi coach, I also learned about the seven “窝” (wō), or body hollows, from the perspective of Tai Chi; areas that can support the movement and circulation of Qi. The hip joint is one of these important areas.
The best way to explore it is not to force the movement, but to relax and release tension and restrictions around the hip joint and femur, allowing more space and mobility.
With the support of Netter’s Anatomy, we also looked more closely at the pancreas and its endocrine and exocrine functions. We explored how hormones such as insulin and glucagon are involved in regulating blood glucose levels.
Visualization → Somatization → Embodiment
This is the process I have been learning through Body-Mind Centering® (BMC).
First, we visualize and imagine.
Then, we somatize; sensing, experiencing and exploring the kinaesthetic through our own body.
And gradually, we move towards embodiment, where the knowledge becomes something we can feel, being and apply in our everyday movement. For me, this is what KiTaRi is about: not simply learning about the body, but slowly learning through the body.
Step by step, the body teaches us.
