Dr. Nasir graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 1988. He subsequently obtained the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS), United Kingdom, in 1993, before completing his Master of Surgery (MS) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1995.
