最近,Social Group正在学习 The Places We Play。
Our Social Group has recently been learning about The Places We Play.
Knowing the rules in class is one thing. Remembering them in an exciting place, while waiting, staying with the group and being aware of others is a very different challenge. So today, we brought the lesson into real life with a visit to Zoo Negara.
The outing gave us a chance to see a different side of each child.
One child took on the role of a little helper, assisting teacher in looking out for two friends. There was a brief emotional moment along the way, but the child recovered quickly and handled a similar situation much better when it happened again.
Another child, who usually not aware of the environment, became more observant and responsive to what was happening nearby. These may seem like small changes, but they’re meaningful steps towards becoming more aware of the environment.
We also saw a child with strong ideas and preferences work hard to cope when the group’s plan didn’t match what he wanted. It wasn’t easy, but we could see the effort to manage the disappointment and keep going with everyone.
It was a very hot and sunny day, and even the teachers were tired from walking! Yet our little ones walked for two hours without giving up. One child complained about the heat and mosquitoes, then smiled and said, “It’s okay!”
That little moment reminded us that this outing wasn’t only about learning rules. The children were also enjoying the simple experience of exploring somewhere new with their friends.
We didn’t just visit the zoo to see the animals. We gave the children a chance to practise staying with the group, managing their emotions and being mindful of others while creating happy memories together. 🌱
