Exciting Milestone for the Clinical Research Centre, Sarawak General Hospital (CRC SGH)!

The Clinical Research Centre, Sarawak General Hospital recently underwent NPRA Phase I Unit (P1U) surveillance inspection from 15–17 July 2026. The inspection was led by Dr. Zaril, together with the experienced inspection team comprising Puan Fadhilah, Puan Jacinda, and Puan Zakiah.

During the inspection, the team reviewed the First-in-Human (FIH) clinical trial led by Dr. Teh Cheng Lay, a study in which Sarawak General Hospital serves as the first Asia-Pacific site participating in a global first-in-human clinical trial for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) (https://www.mims.com/malaysia/news-updates/topic/sarawak-general-hospital-first-asia-pacific-site-for-global-first-in-human-sle-clinical-trial).

This surveillance inspection represents far more than a regulatory requirement—it is a testament to CRC SGH's unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of participant safety, data integrity, quality management, and regulatory compliance in early-phase clinical research.

Together, we look forward to many more milestones as we advance clinical research and bring innovative treatments closer to patients.
