The body keeps adjusting when it does not feel stable.

You ever notice how people often shift their weight when standing?
When waiting for the bus, talking to someone, or simply standing for a while — there is often this quiet need to adjust, even slightly.
Most of the time, it’s not really because the legs are tired.
It’s more because the body has not fully settled into a stable structure yet.
Some people tend to carry more weight on one side.
Some hold tension in the shoulders without realizing it.
Some look like they are standing still, but internally they are still quietly holding themselves up.
Over time, the body keeps wanting to move, adjust, and redistribute itself.
So standing practice (zhanzhuang) is not about “training a posture.”
It is about gradually allowing the body to return to a more stable and effortless way of standing.
