☀️👁️ July is 𝗨𝗩 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 & 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 – a timely reminder that healthy vision starts with the habits we practise every day.

Over the past few weeks, we've shared simple ways to care for your eyes—from the 𝟮𝟬-𝟮𝟬-𝟮𝟬 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲 for digital eye strain to everyday habits that help keep your vision healthy. Another habit worth adding? 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗨𝗩 𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀 by wearing UV-blocking sunglasses and staying hydrated, especially during prolonged time outdoors.

Dry, irritated, or watery eyes aren't just a temporary inconvenience—they could be signs of 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲, which can be worsened by prolonged screen use, air-conditioning, and environmental factors.

𝗗𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘀 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴 served as a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 in cataract and refractive surgery sessions, sharing his expertise in managing complex cataract cases and secondary intraocular lens implantation. Meanwhile, 𝗗𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝘂𝗲 presented his research on the clinical outcomes of the 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 (𝗘𝗗𝗢𝗙) 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘀, contributing to the growing body of evidence in modern cataract surgery.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at 𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗘𝗚𝗙: 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 last Saturday. The event brought together ophthalmologists and eye care professionals for engaging discussions on the latest advances in retinal disease management and valuable exchanges of real-world clinical experience.

Sharing expertise. Advancing ophthalmology. 👁️✨

We are proud to share that Dr Dennis Kong, Medical Director of Eye Specialist Centre Kuching, will be one of the faculty members at the Malaysian Ophthalmology Scientific Congress (MOSC) 2026, leading the Aphakia Workshop: Instructional Course alongside distinguished cataract surgeons from across Malaysia.

During this hands-on instructional course, Dr Kong will share his expertise on 𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹-𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀 (𝗦𝗙𝗜𝗢𝗟), including 𝘀𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 and key surgical considerations—helping fellow ophthalmologists navigate the challenges of managing aphakia and complex secondary IOL implantation.

🌍 Sharing expertise beyond borders.

Over the weekend, 𝗗𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝘂𝗲 was invited to Johor Bahru to speak at a Roche-sponsored educational forum, where he shared his experience from the renowned 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹, 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻, on the management of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) patients who were switched to 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗯 (𝗩𝗮𝗯𝘆𝘀𝗺𝗼®) treatment.

His presentation highlighted real-world clinical outcomes, treatment strategies, and insights gained from one of the world's leading eye hospitals, contributing to discussions on advancing retinal care and improving patient outcomes. 👁️✨
