Most people assume that a Halal logo on the packaging tells them everything they need to know.
But a logo only counts when a valid certificate sits behind it.

In episode 2 of Halal Check, our RA executive Noorain Zulkapli explains why the logo can’t be placed on packaging without a valid certificate, and how to tell whether the one you see is real.

We also get into two things brand owners ask us often, why the logo’s colour can vary while its specification can’t, and whether a Halal logo from overseas is automatically accepted in Malaysia.

If you’re building Halal products for the Malaysian market, this one’s worth a minute of your time.

Lunch hour well spent 🥮

Our Bio Tree family gathered last Thursday for Mid-Autumn Festival, plus birthdays for our August, September and October babies.

The riddle challenge had everyone glued to the screen 📱

Answer wrong and the question goes straight to the next caller, so no shouting out answers allowed! Correct calls walked away with gifts.

Cake, candles and lots of laughter closed out the celebration 🎂

One team, many smiles, one Bio Tree family.

Most people think Halal just means no pork, no alcohol.

That's actually only part of the picture.

In episode 1 of Halal Check, our RA executive Noorain Zulkapli breaks down what JAKIM actually assesses before granting a Halal certificate, covering the full "Halalan Toyyiban" standard.

We also get into something brand owners ask us often, the real difference between a JAKIM Halal certificate and a generic "suitable for Muslim" label you'll see on some imported products.

If you're building Halal products for the Malaysian market, this one's worth your two minutes.

4 days at MAHA2026 done and dusted ✅

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, sampled our Procurrant slushy, and made this such a fun run! Until next time, MAHA 🫶

That's a wrap for us at MAHA 2026!

Four days at MAEPS Serdang, and we're truly thankful for everyone who stopped by our booth to say hi, sample, and get to know us better. Seeing so many of you enjoy our Procurrant (Propolis + Blackcurrant) Vinegar slushy made the whole experience even sweeter.

Our time at the booth has ended, but MAHA 2026 is still ongoing, so if you haven't had the chance to visit, there's still time to catch it before it wraps up.

Thank you for the memories, MAHA, until next time!
