Happy birthday to Dr Cheu! He has been practicing medicine and serving Miri community since 1996, especially in the offshore industries. Three decades of leadership is a remarkable milestone, and hopefully more to come.

We are a DOSH registered Audiometry Testing Cenre located in Miri Sarawak. All three doctors in the clinic are OHD.
For Dosh Audiometry, we can provide:
1. Capacity: 5 workers in the morning, 10 in the afternoon. (Mornings are busier with medical check‑ups and result in longer waiting time; afternoons are usually faster.)
2. Each test takes 5–15 minutes per person.
3. Operating Hours: Mon–Fri (8–12pm, 1–5pm), Sat (8–12pm). Closed Sundays & public holidays.
4. Price: differs for air conduction and additional cost if an abnormal audiogram (add-on bone conduction test).

Before Test
1. Provide latest Noise Risk Assessment Report.
2. State each employee’s first worksite deployment date on the request chit.
3. Ensure no loud noise exposure 14 hrs before test.
4. Sick employees should defer testing.

Technical Notes (for compliance)
1. Findings within 3 months of deployment are not reportable to DOSH.
2. Abnormal audiogram (Temporary Standard Threshold Shift) → retest within 3 months.
3. Abnormal audiogram (HI/NIHL/PSTS) → reportable to DOSH
4. HI/NIHL reported once; subsequent years only PSTS reported.
5. Employers must notify State DOSH within 7 days of receiving MyKKP report for abnormal audiograms.

A Sleep Study (Polysomnography) is a safe, painless way to monitor your body while you rest. It helps to identify disorders like Sleep Apnea, which can affect your energy levels, heart health, and overall well-being.

Sleep study is recommended for:
- Excessive snoring that disrupts you or your partner.
- Persistent daytime tiredness, even after a full night's rest.

"My clinic reading is high... Do I need medication?"

A single high reading at the clinic doesn’t always mean you have hypertension. Diagnosis requires persistent elevation of blood pressure confirmed over multiple readings or through out-of-office monitoring.

Criteria for diagnosing hypertension differ depending on the measurement method used. Because blood pressure fluctuates due to physical activity, stress, and the "White Coat" effect, out-of-office monitoring is often necessary before initiating pharmacological treatment.

The thresholds for a diagnosis of hypertension are as follows (based on Malaysian CPG Management of Hypertension 2018, 5th edition):
- Office/Clinic BP: ≥ 140/90 mmHg
- Home Blood Pressure Monitoring (HBPM): ≥ 135/85 mmHg (average of readings taken over several days)
- Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM): ≥ 135/85 mmHg (24-hour average)

Pharmacological intervention is generally indicated when blood pressure is consistently above these thresholds after a period of monitoring and lifestyle modification, or immediately if Stage 2 or Stage 3 hypertension is present with evidence of organ damage.
