Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (UTM), a technique used in industrial ultrasonic testing, is a non-destructive method to measure the local thickness of a solid element (usually made of metal, if using ultrasound testing for industrial purposes) based on how long it takes the ultrasound wave to return to the surface. Usually, an ultrasonic thickness gauge is used for this type of measurement.

Magnetic Partical Testing (MT) done by Technicians of Intelligent Inspection & Services Sdn. Bhd.
MT is an NDT method used to detect surface and subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials.
Fine ferromagnetic particles are applied to the surface of a ferromagnetic material after it has been magnetized.
A leakage field is produced when the magnetic field is disrupted by material discontinuities like cracks or voids. These leakage fields attract the ferromagnetic particles creating observable signs of cracks or voids.
The main objectives of MT is to
1. Detect surface and subsurface defects.
2. Ensuring material integrity
MT is widely used on various industry such as oil and gas, manufacturing and infrastructure.
MT used on oil and gas industry to inspect pipelines, pressure vessels and storage tanks for surface cracks, corrosion and other defects that could lead to leaks or failure.
MT used on manufacturing to inspect welds and ensure they are free from surface cracks and manufacturing flaws.
MT used on Infrastructure to inspect structural steel components used in buildings and other infrastructure projects to ensure they are free from surface cracks and other flaws.

Ultrasonic Testing or UT is an NDT method used to detect flaws and defects without damaging the object being tested. It can also be used to check for corrosion and prevent failure of a component, a part or the entire object.
