Our expert was recently invited to an overseas university hospital for an in-depth clinical exchange with their ophthalmology team. Alongside delivering specialized lectures, our expert joined local doctors in joint consultations to analyze complex cases and provide professional guidance on diagnostic thinking, treatment strategies, and rehabilitation planning.

Acting as a mentor, our expert offered hands-on guidance in Vision Neuro Rehabilitation, visual function assessments, and personalized care. The complex cases explored included eye turn in (esotropia), eye turn out (exotropia), brain injury-induced 3rd nerve palsy affecting the medial re**us, superior oblique overaction, hemianopia, and nystagmus. Remarkably, all patients demonstrated noticeable improvements after just a few days of neuro-vision therapy, though continued therapy remains essential. Both teams also exchanged insights on pediatric myopia prevention, covering early intervention and long-term management strategies. This meaningful exchange strengthened local clinical confidence while establishing a solid foundation for future international partnerships.

In this episode, we’re heartened to have Yu Xuan’s mother join us to share their incredible transformation. While we started with the goal of improving Yu Xuan’s eye tracking, the results we witnessed went far beyond the vision room.

This case report describes an adult patient with long-standing childhood strabismus who developed ocular torticollis, facial asymmetry, and secondary spinal changes as a result of prolonged visual compensation. The visual etiology remained unrecognized until adulthood, after many years of musculoskeletal-focused management. Following diagnosis, intensive neuro-vision therapy led to improved ocular alignment, the development of depth perception, and a marked reduction in abnormal head posture. These outcomes demonstrate that visual rehabilitation can be effective even later in life. This case highlights the critical importance of early ophthalmic evaluation and a multidisciplinary management approach involving both an ophthalmologist and a behavioral optometrist. Neuro-vision specialist Dr. Stanley, founder of our center, was honored to collaborate with ophthalmologists Dr. Goh and Dr. Chiew. This clinical poster was presented at the 2026 Asia Academy of Ophthalmology meeting.
