Why do females have less heart attacks ?????

Women have fewer heart attacks before a certain age mainly due to the hormone estrogen, a delay in artery disease, and different lifestyle habits. This protection usually lasts until menopause, after which their risk catches up to men.

Hormonal Protection
i)Estrogen levels: Higher natural estrogen before menopause keeps blood vessels flexible and strong.

ii)Cholesterol balance: Estrogen raises good HDL cholesterol and lowers bad LDL cholesterol.

iii)Less swelling: The hormone helps lower inflammation in the body.

iv)Age and Risk Timing
Later start: Heart disease starts building up later in women than in men.

v)Post-menopause change: After menopause, when estrogen drops fast, a woman's risk catches up quickly to a man's risk.

CYFRA 21-1

Cyfra 21-1 is an important tumour marker for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Lung cancer is classified into two main types:

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC):
The most common type, accounting for about 85-90% of lung cancer cases.
It grows and spreads more slowly compared to small cell lung cancer.
Even non-smokers and individuals exposed to PM 2.5 (fine particulate matter) have a risk of developing this type of lung cancer.
Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC):
Less common, making up about 10-15% of lung cancer cases.
Highly aggressive, growing and spreading rapidly.
Mostly found in people with a history of smoking.
Recommendations for Cyfra 21-1 Testing
Cyfra 21-1 testing is recommended alongside CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen) testing and Low-Dose CT Chest (LDCT) to enhance accuracy in screening for lung cancer risk.

The test is particularly recommended for:

1)Regular smokers with a smoking history of 20 pack-years or more
(calculated as the number of packs per day × years smoked), aged
50-80 years.
2)Frequent exposure to second-hand smoke.
3)Former smokers aged 50-80 years who had a history of smoking
over 20 pack-years and quit less than 15 years ago.
4)Individuals with a family history of lung cancer.
5)Those exposed to chemical substances or radon gas.
6)People living in areas with high air pollution or prolonged
exposure to PM 2.5.
7)Regular e-cigarette (v**e) users.

Ectopic Heartbeat (Premature Beat)
Definition: A single, early, or extra beat followed by a brief pause and a stronger-feeling thump.
Sensation: A "skipped" beat, flutter, or thump in the chest or throat.
Cause: Often benign; triggered by caffeine, alcohol, stress, anxiety, or fatigue.
Danger: Almost always harmless and not a sign of heart damage, though frequent ones may warrant investigation.

Irregular Heartbeat (General Arrhythmia)
Definition: A general term for any abnormal rhythm where the heart beats too fast, too slow, or in an erratic pattern.
Examples: Atrial Fibrillation (AF) (chaotic rhythm), tachycardia (fast), or bradycardia (slow).
Cause: Can be benign, but often associated with heart disease, high blood pressure, or thyroid issues.
Danger: Can be harmless, but some, like AF, can increase stroke risk.
