👁️ EYEGP & Aqtive Naz Supplies at the 6th Primary Care Symposium 2026, Melaka

It was truly a pleasure for EYEGP and Aqtive Naz Supplies to be part of the 6th Primary Care Symposium 2026, organised by the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Melaka Branch, held from 3–5 July 2026 at Holiday Inn Melaka.

With the theme “Primary Care at the Heart of Healthcare,” the symposium brought together doctors, healthcare professionals, distinguished speakers and industry partners with a common goal, continuous learning and improving the quality of care we provide to our patients.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the MMA Melaka Branch, the organising committee and everyone involved behind the scenes for giving us the opportunity to participate as an exhibitor and showcase our solutions at our booth.

A very special thank you to the esteemed speakers, doctors and participants who took the time to visit us, learn about our services, experience our fundus camera demonstration, and explore the EIRS (EYEGP Image Reporting System). We truly appreciate the positive feedback, encouraging reviews, insightful questions and meaningful conversations we had throughout the symposium. 🙏

💡 Why bring retinal screening closer to primary care?

The retinal microvasculature is the only part of the human circulation that can be directly visualised non-invasively in vivo. Fundus photography provides objective documentation of retinal vascular and structural changes, facilitating the detection of diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy and other retinal pathologies that may otherwise remain asymptomatic until more advanced stages.

Integrating retinal imaging into the primary care setting can therefore complement the management of patients with systemic risk factors, particularly diabetes mellitus and hypertension while providing an opportunity for earlier identification of ocular pathology and facilitating timely referral for ophthalmological assessment when indicated.

Through EYEGP, our aim is to make retinal screening and professional reporting support more accessible to healthcare providers through our EIRS (EYEGP Image Reporting System) platform. Together with the fundus camera solutions offered through Aqtive Naz Supplies, we hope to establish a practical pathway connecting primary care, retinal imaging and eye care services supporting early detection, appropriate clinical decision making and timely referral.

Beyond showcasing our products and services, this symposium was also an opportunity to meet new colleagues, reconnect with familiar faces, exchange ideas and explore future collaborations.

EYEGP & Aqtive Naz Supplies at the Clinical Practice Guideline on Obesity Seminar & Workshop 2026

We are delighted to have participated in the Seminar & Workshop: Clinical Practice Guideline on Obesity – “Translating Obesity Guideline into Action”, held on 6–7 June 2026 at Concorde Hotel Shah Alam.

Representing EYEGP and Aqtive Naz Supplies, we had the opportunity to showcase our EIRS (EYEGP Image Reporting System) and demonstrate our digital fundus camera solutions, highlighting how accessible retinal screening and teleophthalmology can complement comprehensive patient care.

Our sincere appreciation to the organisers, Pertubuhan Doktor-Doktor Islam Malaysia (PERDIM) and Malaysian Obesity Society (MYOS), for organising this meaningful educational event and for giving us the opportunity to be part of it.

EYEGP was honoured to once again be part of the Annual Scientific Conference 2026 (ASC2026) organised by the Academy of Family Physicians of Malaysia (AFPM), a key national platform bringing together family medicine specialists, healthcare leaders, and innovators from across Malaysia.

This year’s theme,
“Redefining Family Medicine with Digital Health Technology,”
highlights the ongoing transformation in primary care where digital innovation is reshaping clinical practice while maintaining the core values of family medicine: continuity, accessibility, and patient-centred care.

At ASC2026, EYEGP had the opportunity to showcase our portable fundus camera solution, demonstrating its role in strengthening primary eye care delivery through:
• Early detection of retinal disease at primary care level
• Portable and clinic friendly workflow integration
• Cost effective alternative to conventional imaging systems
• High quality retinal imaging to support clinical decision making

We were encouraged by the strong interest from family physicians and primary care teams in adopting practical digital tools that enhance diagnostic capability at the frontline of care.

A key takeaway aligned strongly with the conference message:
Digital health should empower clinicians, not replace the clinical relationship.

Reflecting on an inspiring and impactful event earlier this month, EYEGP is proud to have been part of the successful symposium organised by Malaysian Medical Association Negeri Sembilan.

The event brought together a strong network of healthcare professionals, united by a common goal - strengthening primary care and improving patient outcomes. It was a well executed platform that fostered meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across multiple disciplines. We commend MMA Negeri Sembilan for their continued commitment to organising initiatives that truly benefit the medical community and, ultimately, the public.

EYEGP was honoured to contribute by showcasing our ophthalmology based primary eye care solutions, aimed at empowering frontliners with accessible and practical tools to enhance early detection and management of eye conditions.

We were especially privileged to receive visits from distinguished leaders including YAB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Aminuddin bin Harun, Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan, YB Dato Dr Rajasekaran Gunnasekaran ADUN Sri Tanjung and Dr Zuraida Bt Mohamed, Director of JKN Negeri Sembilan. Their recognition and encouragement further reinforce the importance of strengthening primary care capabilities, particularly in ophthalmology, as part of a broader healthcare ecosystem.

ASSUNTA GP SYMPOSIUM 2026 – Strengthening Primary Care in Ophthalmology

On 11th January 2026, EYEGP was honoured to be part of the Assunta GP Symposium 2026 organised by Assunta Hospital at M World Hotel.

Centred on the theme “Bridging Primary Care and Minimally Invasive Surgery for Better Patient Outcomes,” the symposium created an important platform for collaboration between specialists and general practitioners, strengthening referral pathways and enhancing patient care at the primary level.

We are especially grateful for the opportunity to support Dr Katherine Seng Boon Hwei, Consultant Ophthalmologist, in the successful delivery of her session on eye care. Her talk provided practical, clinically relevant insights that empower GP doctors to better recognise, assess, and manage ophthalmic-related conditions in daily practice.

Beyond the lecture session, EYEGP was given space to demonstrate our fundus imaging solutions, reinforcing the importance of early screening and timely detection of retinal and optic nerve abnormalities. Many vision-threatening conditions including diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and glaucoma remain asymptomatic in early stages. Primary care fundus screening plays a pivotal role in preventing avoidable blindness through early identification and appropriate referral.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr Katherine and Assunta Hospital for the trust and opportunity given to EYEGP. Meaningful collaborations such as this strengthen the bond between primary care and ophthalmology, ultimately improving patient outcomes within the community.

On a personal note, Dr Katherine exemplifies dedication to both her patients and the broader medical community. Her commitment to education, clinical excellence, and community service reflects the qualities of a truly compassionate and forward-thinking ophthalmologist. It is a privilege to work alongside clinicians who are deeply invested in elevating standards of care. Malaysia is fortunate to have such a compassionate and forward thinking ophthalmologist serving the community.
