Clinical insights, practical techniques and hands-on learning took centre stage at a series of workshops organised by Pharmaniaga’s Oral Health Unit during the Malaysian International Dental Exhibition and Conference (MIDEC) 2026, featuring knowledge sharing by renowned local and international dental professionals.
Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 21 to 23 August 2026, the workshops were organised in collaboration with Coltene, MicroMega, Solventum, Aftamed and Gengigel, covering a range of topics relevant to everyday clinical dentistry, from restorative techniques and root canal treatment to preventive oral care.
Among the featured professionals, Dr Muhammad Yazid Sarkawi from Klinik Pergigian Saujana shared practical insights on direct composite restoration techniques, while Dr Raghavendra Penukonda from Saveetha Institute, Chennai, India, explored approaches to simplified and predictable root canal treatment.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Annapurny Venkateswaran from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), shared the latest evidence on fluoride varnishes, while Restorative Specialist Dr Lim Zhi Yin Joan led workshops on restorative solutions for root canal treated teeth and effective shade selection strategies.
Pharmaniaga’s participation at MIDEC 2026 reflects the role of its Oral Health Unit in supporting knowledge sharing and professional learning within the dental community, alongside providing access to a broad range of oral healthcare products and solutions.
