Why do we pay professional fees? 🎨

Galderma’s team building unexpectedly made me think about aesthetics.

Before the artist started teaching us, I painted this myself.

Same canvas.
Same paint.
Same colours.

Then everyone started leaving.

But I stayed.

Because I knew that was when the artist finally had the time to sit beside me and teach me properly.

How to draw the nose.
How to shape the eyes.
How to draw the lips.
How to create the right shadows.

And look at the difference.

Same paint.
Same canvas.
Different result.

That made me think about aesthetic medicine.

Filler is the material.
Biostimulator is the material.

But the material is only part of the story.

The real difference is the knowledge, experience, judgement and hands behind it.

Knowing where to place it.
How much to use.
How to balance the face.
And sometimes, most importantly…

when to stop.

So perhaps when you pay a professional fee,

We joked that this machine costs almost the price of a condominium… 😅

Every opportunity to teach is an opportunity to learn.

It was an honour to speak at the ADAMS Conference, presenting to a hall full of doctors on one of the fastest-growing topics in aesthetic medicine—GLP-1 Face, also known as Ozempic Face, Wegovy Face, and Mounjaro Face.

With the increasing use of GLP-1 medications for weight loss, more patients are asking how to address facial volume loss while maintaining natural-looking results. During my presentation, I shared my clinical approach to assessing these patients and discussed how Sculptra can be used as part of a personalised treatment plan to support facial volume and collagen stimulation.

Medicine is constantly evolving, and I’m grateful to contribute by sharing clinical experience with fellow doctors. Education is how we continue to raise the standard of aesthetic practice and achieve better outcomes for our patients.

From treating patients to sharing experiences with fellow doctors.

This year I had the opportunity to present our clinical poster at the booth of Galderma, focusing on a topic I believe matters most in regenerative aesthetics:

How to minimise complications with Sculptra and optimise outcomes using the AART technique.

As a doctor and educator, I believe great results are important, but safe results matter even more.

Our presentation discussed:
• Patient selection and assessment
• Understanding facial anatomy and ageing patterns
• Strategies to minimise nodules and complications
• The role of injection planning and product preparation
• Clinical application of the AART technique for natural collagen restoration
