Did you know your skin has a wall? 🧱
Not a metaphor — an actual one. Right at the surface, there's a layer of cells stacked like bricks, holding hands, keeping water in and trouble out. That's your skin barrier.
When that wall is solid, your skin glows, heals quickly, and barely complains. But every harsh scrub, every acid layered on another acid, every "deep cleanse" that leaves your face feeling squeaky — knocks a brick loose.
And a wall with gaps is exactly when skin turns tight, red and reactive. It's also when dark patches find their opening.
Here's what most people get wrong: when skin starts misbehaving, the instinct is to add another product. More often, the answer is to take things away and let the wall rebuild.
This is Episode 1 of Inside Your Skin — a new animated series where Dr Kyo explains what's actually happening under your skin, without the hype.
Next episode: the trampoline under your skin, and why that dark patch keeps coming back.
Tell us in the comments — has your skin ever felt tight and "squeaky clean" after washing? That's the sign we're talking about.
Ask what actually works.
