Notably, he completed his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1994, and pursued further plastic surgery training at the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery in Swansea, Wales, culminating in 2001. With a profound interest in burns, scars, and keloids, Dr. Soma played a pivotal role in establishing the Advanced Burns Centre at the National University of Malaysia. He is actively involved in advancing scar and keloid treatment methodologies, serving as a member of the Asian Scar Advisory Board. Dr. Soma is also deeply committed to education, mentoring medical students and post-graduates at the National University of Malaysia, while also sharing his expertise internationally through teaching engagements with organizations like the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Beyond his clinical practice and educational pursuits, Dr. Soma is dedicated to research and innovation, regularly participating in clinical studies and experiments.
