Karundu Primary School hosts N$100,000 B2Gold-sponsored sports tournament

Karundu Primary School has successfully hosted an inter-primary school soccer and netball tournament sponsored by B2Gold Namibia at a cost of N$100,000.

The tournament brought together 16 primary schools from across the region, giving young learners an opportunity to showcase their sporting talents while promoting teamwork, discipline and unity among schools.

The event was attended by the Regional Director of Education, Mr G. Ndafenongo, the Deputy Mayor of Otjiwarongo, and two representatives from B2Gold Namibia.

In the soccer competition, Kalkfeld Primary School emerged as champions after defeating Orwetoveni Primary School 2-1 in the final. Osire Primary School finished in third place.

In netball, hosts Karundu Primary School claimed the championship after overcoming Weiher Nortier Primary School from Grootfontein in the final. Vooruit Primary School secured third place.

The tournament also provided learners with a platform to build confidence, develop sporting abilities and strengthen friendships beyond the classroom.

Karundu Primary School management expressed its appreciation to B2Gold Namibia for the sponsorship, saying the financial support contributed significantly to the successful hosting of the tournament.

The school also thanked the Regional Director of Education, Deputy Mayor of Otjiwarongo, participating schools, teachers, parents and community members for their support.

The school said the tournament demonstrated the important role of sport in promoting unity, discipline, healthy competition and friendship among learners.

“Together, through education and sport, we build a brighter future for our children,” the school said.
