This past weekend, we had the privilege of being part of the MTC KasiVibe Festival—an event officially opened by the President, Honourable Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who spoke about how innovation and creation are often the beginning of something great.

That message resonated deeply with us.

At Utopia Psychology & Coaching Services, we believe that innovation isn’t only about technology or business—it’s also about finding new ways to bring mental health conversations into everyday life.

Our stall was all about making mental health approachable through fun trivia, conversations, and curiosity. We wanted to meet people where they are—laughing, connecting, enjoying the festival—and remind them that talking about mental health doesn’t have to happen only in a therapy room.

Some of the best conversations start with a simple question.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, challenged themselves with our trivia, asked questions, and shared their experiences with us. We had an incredible time, and we’re grateful to have been part of a festival that celebrated both community and innovation.

🧡🧡 Here’s to bringing mental health to the people—one conversation at a time.

Episode 6: The Need to be Understood

We spend so much of our lives wanting to be understood.

We explain.
We justify.
We defend.
We replay conversations in our minds, hoping that if people could just see our intentions, they would approve of our decisions.

But what if our need to be understood is quietly preventing us from living authentically?

This episode explores the psychology behind why being misunderstood feels so threatening, why we work so hard to control other people’s narratives about us, and why learning to tolerate misunderstanding may be one of the most important emotional skills we can develop.

Because understanding is wonderful—but it isn’t a prerequisite for authenticity.

Sometimes becoming who you are means accepting that not everyone will understand the person you’re becoming.

I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’ve listened. What resonated with you most?

Episode 5- Somewhere along the way…

Nothing changed overnight… but somehow everything feels different.

This episode is about the slow, quiet shifts we don’t always notice—until we do.

I recorded something for our latest episode coming soon. And I noticed that this specific episode hit home. So I recorded a little snippet of where my mind has been recently.

Lately, I’ve been struggling a little bit in this season 💛 struggling with change.

Nothing dramatic.
Just subtle shifts… in how I think, what I feel, what I’m no longer okay with.

And if I’m honest; it’s been shaking me a little.

Because while I can see the growth, I can also feel the grief.
Grieving a version of myself that got me here.
A version I’m not ready to let go of so easily.

There’s a strange tension in becoming…
between welcoming who you’re becoming and feeling like you’re betraying who you’ve been.

This space in-between.
Where nothing is clearly ending, but everything is quietly changing.

Still figuring it out.
Still learning how to hold both.

Full episode on this topic drops soon💛

Ep: Every adult was once a child learning how to feel.

The way children experience emotions; whether they feel safe to express them, whether they are understood; shapes how they show up later in life.

In this conversation join me and one our very own Miss Namibia Semi-finalist Constancia Kamburona, as we unpack:
• how children learn emotional responses
• why modelling matters more than instruction
• and how childhood experiences carry into adulthood

What’s something you had to learn emotionally as an adult that no one taught you?
