A fever can be frightening for any parent, but it’s important to remember that a fever is usually a sign that your child’s immune system is doing its job. Most fevers are caused by common viral infections and will improve with time and supportive care.

The temperature on the thermometer is only part of the picture. How your child looks and behaves is often even more important.
