Hope Initiatives Southern Africa- Namibia (HISA) Hope, Change, Self-Reliance www.hisanamibia.org We help children in the squatter settlements of Namibia which have been hit hard by the AIDS pandemic.

Most households are headed by women and children, and many of them can no longer cope. They do not have enough food or decent housing, and the children cannot go to school. We provide opportunities and support for people to make better lives for themselves. Namibia is one of the poorest African countries. It has been politically stable since it obtained independence from South Africa in 1990, but

most of its 2 million people live on less than $2 US a day. Windhoek, the capital, has overflowed with urban migration into squatter camps to the north of the city, in Okahandja Park, Kilimandjaro, Babilon and Okuruyangava. These communities are among the poorest in the country. This is where HISA is based. Our work helps the young, particularly Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs). We provide:

- Education
- Community Work

A milestone worth celebrating! 🎉

Through the Hope Initiatives Multi-Purpose Centre in the Tsandi District, we continue to empower youth with valuable skills for the future.

On 3 June, six learners successfully completed a 5-week Business Skills and Digital Literacy Course , equipping them with practical knowledge to enhance their personal growth, employability, and entrepreneurial potential.

A special thank you to our dedicated staff and Peace Corps volunteer for their commitment to mentoring and supporting the learners throughout this journey. Your efforts are making a lasting difference in the lives of young people in our communities.

HISA IN OMUSATI REGION

Hope Initiatives staff recently handed over clothing donations to expecting mothers at the feeding centre in Tsandi. The centre supports an average of 20–25 young mothers by providing nutritious meals three times a week, helping to promote healthy full-term pregnancies as they await delivery at a nearby state hospital.

HISA continues to play a vital role in community development by supporting vulnerable mothers and addressing the needs of those who require assistance the most. ❤️💙🤍
