Brain health is essential to our overall wellbeing, yet neurological conditions affect more than 3.4 billion people worldwide, making them the leading cause of disability. On Wednesday, 22 July 2026, we celebrate World Brain Day, recognising the importance of improving access to brain health awareness, timely diagnosis and quality care for everyone. By increasing understanding and reducing barriers to care, we can help more people receive the support they need to live healthier lives. Baby Genesis Neis was born at Mediclinic Windhoek on 9 December 2025 at just 24 weeks' gestation, weighing only 605 grams. What followed was an incredible journey of strength, hope, and resilience. After spending six months in our NICU and NHC alongside her devoted mom, Wednesday was finally the day they got to go home.

Genesis now weighs a healthy 4.690 kg—a remarkable milestone that reflects her fighting spirit and the dedication of everyone who cared for her. A heartfelt thank you to Dr Gerald Morkel, clinical colleagues and our wonderful nursing staff for their unwavering commitment, compassion, and exceptional care throughout Genesis's journey.

We wish the family a future filled with good health, happiness, and many beautiful memories. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your incredible story.
