Mid-Year Check In: Are You on Your Own List?
A recurring pattern continues to emerge in my work: people presenting with distress layered in self-negation, over-extension, and a quiet foregoing of themselves.
When I ask, where do you feature on your own list?
The answer is often: I don’t.
Look at your calendar.
Look at your to-do list.
Do you feature anywhere?
Are you intentionally accounted for?
You cannot be an afterthought in your own life and mission.
Here’s some ways to change that:
1. Rest without guilt- rest is not indulgent, it is essential for your wellbeing.
2. Speak to yourself with compassion and awareness -self-criticism depletes cognitive bandwidth.
3. Protect your energy and boundaries - every yes to others may be a no to something for you.
4. Invest in self-awareness, growth, and healing- the ROI of therapy and reflection compounds.
5. Choose environments and activities that nourishes you.
What’s one way you could add yourself to your list this week?
