*INTERNATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS' DAY (May 4)*

What do you know about the international Firefighters' Day?

Every year on International Firefighters' Day (May 4), people around the world pause to recognize the courage, commitment, and sacrifice of firefighters—those who run toward danger when others are running away.

It’s not just about honoring those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, but also about appreciating the everyday bravery of firefighters who protect lives, homes, and communities under extreme conditions. From battling raging wildfires to responding to accidents and disasters, their work often goes unseen until the moment it’s needed most.

A common way to show respect is by displaying red and blue lights—symbolizing fire and emergency services—or by observing a moment of silence. Many also wear something blue or share messages of gratitude.

Behind every uniform is a human being who has chosen service over safety. Today is a reminder of that choice—and a chance to say, simply but meaningfully.

Please recognize and appreciate a firefighter today.

Visit a fire station and say thank you to the brave firefighters who risked their lives daily to save your lives and property.
