International women day.
Annually, March 8 marks international women's day, a day to celebrate women and their achievements, in like manner raise awareness for gender equality. This year's theme of international women's day, , urges us to make it an intentional act to challenge the societal bias against women. Women deserved to be part of decision making table.
Ngozi Okonji Iweala, a woman of impact, diligent in the pursuit of her dreams through the years, believing in herself and her ability to do the job effectively, building credibility and intentional relationships. Has held prestigious leadership position of which the most recent is Director-General of the World Trade Organization, making a the first female to hold this position.
Dr. Chioma Nwakanma, popularly know as Dr Zobo, a public health advocate who observed a problem in her society and is constantly making contributiond towards making a better society for the future generations. Founded her health advocacy company Medically Speaking in 2016. The following year, she launched an NGO, SMILE with me Foundation. The NGO is the outreach arm of Medically Speaking. It is committed to partnering with organizations and causes promoting good health practices and preventive medicine and reaching out to the less privileged in the society with projects such as free or subsidized vaccinations or free screening for breast cancer.
Hauwa Ojeifo, a Sexual Violence and mental health activist. She is known to be the first Nigerian female to have received a Queen's Young Leader Award for her work amongst many other recognitions She is the founder of 'She Writes Woman', a Mental Health NGO.
The list goes on, it is an amazing age to be a woman, women are proving to be capable in various fields from politics KAMALA HARRIS, creating business and social impact, showing competence and excellence in all their works.
NJIDE OKONJO-UDOCHI, being thus first black female to emerge ' Physician of the year' in the USA, breaking new records.
And numerous other ladies out there, setting the pace for the generations to come. We celebrate you all.
