She thought three years of loyalty meant something, until she found the documents hidden in his car.

Cynthia and David were exactly three months away from saying "I do." Everything was perfect or so she thought. But over the last few weeks, David had completely changed.
The man who used to surprise her with weekend getaways and thoughtful dinners suddenly became distant. He started cutting back on everything. No more eating out. No more movie nights. Whenever the wedding budget came up, his jaw would tighten, and he’d quickly change the subject.
Cynthia’s mind naturally went to the darkest places. Is there someone else? Is he losing interest? Is he getting cold feet? The anxiety was eating her alive.
Yesterday, while looking for her missing car charger in his glove compartment, her hand brushed against a brown envelope. She shouldn't have opened it. But desperation took over.
Inside wasn’t evidence of another woman. It was a massive bank loan document.
David hadn't fallen out of love with her. He had secretly signed away a huge chunk of his income to bail his older brother out of a failed business deal. A brother who had a history of making bad choices and never paying anyone back. David had taken on a massive financial burden that would directly impact their new marriage and he had actively chosen to lie to her face about it to "protect her from worrying."
Cynthia sat in the car, tears blurring her vision. She was relieved he wasn't cheating, but a new, heavy weight settled in her chest. The man she was about to marry didn't trust her enough to be honest.

No one knows what tomorrow holds. We plan to live,laugh and love,but life sometimes plans for funerals. It shows that no matter how much we think we are in control, we are all just walking through a life full of surprises, some good and some very tragic.
