Day 22 of our PMOS campaign

Do I need to join a gym because I have PMOS?

No.

Walking counts. 🚶🏾‍♀️
Dancing counts. 💃🏾
Cycling counts. 🚴🏾‍♀️
Swimming counts. 🏊🏾‍♀️
Household and everyday movement count.
And yes, gym and strength training count too. 🏋🏾‍♀️

The 2023 International Evidence-based Guideline recommends that adults with PCOS/PMOS work towards 150–300 minutes of moderate activity or 75–150 minutes of vigorous activity each week, or an equivalent combination, plus strengthening activity on two non-consecutive days. It also specifically reminds us that some physical activity is better than none.

So don’t wait until you can afford a gym membership, buy expensive equipment or follow a perfect programme.

Start where you are. Choose something you enjoy. Build gradually. Keep moving.

Day 21 of our PMOS Campaign

“Doctor, what is the best diet for PMOS?”

Keto?
Low-carb?
Gluten-free?
Dairy-free?
Intermittent fasting?

The evidence may surprise you.

The 2023 International Evidence-based Guideline found no single dietary composition that is superior for everyone with PCOS/PMOS.

So instead of searching for a “magic PMOS diet,” focus on something much more useful:

🥬 More vegetables and fruit
🌾 High-fibre/minimally processed carbohydrates
🥚🐟🫘 Good-quality protein
🥑🥜 Healthy fats
💧 Adequate water
🍽️ Sensible portions
❤️ And, importantly, food you actually enjoy and can continue eating.

Your PMOS plate can still look Nigerian.

Healthy eating should fit your health needs, culture, preferences and budget, and not make you frightened of food.

Day 20 post.
Yesterday was Women’s Health Day at Procare Hospital, and it was an awesome experience.

Today, let’s remember why it mattered.

PMOS—formerly known as PCOS—is not simply a problem of ovarian “cysts,” irregular periods, weight or infertility.

It is a condition that deserves whole-woman care: reproductive health, metabolic health, emotional wellbeing, pregnancy planning and long-term health.

If you attended yesterday, thank you for being part of the conversation. If you couldn’t attend, these are 5 messages we don’t want you to miss.

TODAY IS THE DAY!

For the past few weeks, we have talked about periods, hormones, acne and unwanted hair, metabolism, diabetes risk, sleep, mental health, body image, fertility and lifestyle.

Today, we bring those conversations together.

PCOS/PMOS WOMEN’S HEALTH DAY 2026
📍 Procare Hospital, Abuja
📅 Saturday, 19 September 2026

PMOS is more than irregular periods.
It is more than difficulty getting pregnant.
And a woman is more than her diagnosis.

Come with your questions. Come to understand your body. Come to separate evidence from misinformation.

Whether your concern is your periods, weight, skin, hair, fertility, emotional wellbeing or long-term health, your question matters.

18/09/2026

Day 18 of our PMOS Campaign.
PMOS lifestyle care is NOT punishment.

You do not have to find the “perfect PCOS diet.”
You do not have to exercise until you are exhausted.
And your health cannot be reduced to a number on a weighing scale.

Healthy eating, regular movement, good sleep and sustainable behavioural changes can improve health and wellbeing in PMOS—even when weight does not change.

Choose habits you can live with.

And tomorrow — Saturday, 19 September 2026 — we take this conversation offline.

Join us at Procare Hospital, Abuja for our PCOS/PMOS Women’s Health Day.

Come informed. Come curious. Bring your questions.
