PLEASE CEASE FIRE π₯
I have reflected on this whole conversation, and I want to offer clarity.
I believe Delly Singah. is not fighting ALL women who empower women. She is calling out a particular narrative that seems to normalize hate towards men. That is a different conversation entirely.
To be clear: was the call to stop talking about GV and focus ONLY on the root cause, or to INCLUDE the root cause as part of the problem? That distinction matters.
As a VERY PROUD feminist, my divine assignment remains unchanged. I will always stand for women. But I refuse to be boxed into the label of a "bitter single feminist" because I am not. I refuse to accept a crown that doesn't fit.
Until my last breath, I will teach young women how to earn their own living, how to build value for themselves, and how to be a healthy partner to a man! not out of dependence, but out of strength.
Delly gifted her husband a car because she is financially empowered. That is precisely why I do what I do. Financial freedom gives women choices, dignity, and the capacity to love better.
I don't think Delly was referring to women like me. Thatβs IMPOSSIBLE!!! She is doing her own divine assignment, which is to defend the institution of marriage at all costs. That work is also needed.
Here is my honest take: Every feminist movement will have its extremists ( Misandrist) and every pro-marriage movement will have its zealots. That is human.
At the end of the day, we are a small community of βmostlyβ traumatized Anglophones, all trying to survive our realities. We are NOT enemies. If we can see the good in each other's work, put emotions aside, and collaborate, we will go much further.
And dear Delly,
You have made a valid point here, I acknowledge that. But you also left Bamenda Mulang decades ago Mami, you are no longer in those βbeautifulβ trenches
Your CLASS, your WIT and your INTEGRITY are the reasons some of us STAND with you, both in front and behind closed doors.
Please, cease fire. π₯
We need your wisdom, not the war.
