Not everything our children experience will be because of us but some things they experience will be shaped by the choices we make today. This is why parenting requires more than providing for our children but also requires us to examine ourselves and the decisions we are making today.

Before you make that decision, ask yourself: What am I building for the generation coming after me? What legacy will I be creating by my choices? What will become of my children as a result of what I am doing today? These are the inner contemplations we should have as parents to avoid creating a negative pattern for our children.
