According to the Child Marriage Data Portal (2024 data), 66.7% of Nigerian women aged 20–24 with no schooling were married before age 18, compared with 12.7% of those with secondary education or higher.

These figures remind us why investing in girls’ education, protection and opportunities matters.

We see the future of the girl child. Our service delivery in reproductive health is an investment aimed at seeing more girls go to school, stay in school and complete their education. It is an investment towards empowering young girls to pursue their life goals without interruptions, early marriages and unplanned pregnancies.

Healthcare remains a scarce service for people affected by natural and human disasters such as violent conflict, internal displacement, and other emergencies. Women and girls are most vulnerable to associated diseases, unplanned pregnancies, and sexual abuse.

Reaching them may involve traversing challenging terrain, crossing rivers, covering considerable distances, and gaining access to communities that are otherwise difficult to reach.

Central to the pathway to quality sexual and reproductive health care is an MSI Nigeria frontline worker making that journey possible.
