Drugs/Substance abuse is not solely the responsibility of NDLEA NIGERIA alone we as an Organization through the church CYON, Asokoro through the parish priest have taken it upon ourselves to educate the public about the dangers drugs pose to us as a people.
Our CEO/MD Ochui Augustine Akwong Ekem was on Sunday invited to speak with Parishioners on the dangers.
We appreciate the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Stephen Omale, for always looking at assisting and shepherding the flocks entrusted to him.
We also appreciate our MD, for taking this up as our Organizational Corporate Social Responsibilities.

Yesterday, 24th June 2026, Our CEO/MD, had the privilege of speaking as keynote speaker on mental health at the event themed _“Seen, Heard, Held: Never Walk Alone”_, organized by Aid for Street Initiative to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Month.

His message was simple: Human connection saves lives.

We explored 3 pillars:
1. Human Connection- No one heals in isolation.
2. Empathy - Listen to understand, not to fix.
3. Emotional Support - Creating safe spaces where people feel seen, heard, and held.

The reality is urgent: 1 in every 7 people is currently living with or battling a mental health condition. Yet stigma keeps too many silence. We must normalize walking into a counsellor’s office or speaking to a mental health practitioner — without fear of judgment.

Call to action: Our institutions — government and private — must take the lead. Every school, workplace, and ministry should either establish a mental health unit or partner with professionals to build a culture of speaking out.

Mental health is not a side topic. It belongs at the center stage of our daily lives.

Let’s keep advocating until “never walk alone” becomes everyone’s lived reality.
