Healthy eating is an important part of maintaining strength, energy, and overall well-being. A balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein, and adequate fluids can help support the body and promote a healthier lifestyle.

Good nutrition is especially important as we age. Making healthy food choices today can contribute to better health and independence tomorrow.

**WHO WILL CARE FOR NIGERIA’S AGEING POPULATION?**

Nigeria’s population is ageing while families are increasingly separated by work, migration and distance. Love will always matter—but many older people will eventually require support that families alone may not be equipped to provide.

At the same time, millions of young Nigerians are searching for meaningful work. By training and supporting them as professional caregivers, we can respond to both realities: dignified care for older people and worthwhile careers for young people.

The question is no longer whether Nigeria will need a professional caregiving workforce. It is whether we will build one before the need becomes urgent.

**A growing older population. A young population searching for opportunity. One workforce can help answer both—if we build it.**

Nigeria is getting older, and the question of who will care for our ageing population can no longer be ignored.

Our elderly deserve more than occasional visits and family support. They deserve professional, compassionate, dignified care that protects their health, comfort, independence, and quality of life.

At the same time, Nigeria’s young population needs meaningful and dignified employment opportunities. Professional caregiving can bridge both needs by creating a skilled workforce while ensuring that our ageing loved ones receive the quality care they deserve.

The future of elderly care is not just a family responsibility. It is a national responsibility, a professional opportunity, and a call to action.

Let’s invest in professional caregivers today for a healthier, safer, and more dignified tomorrow. Who will care for Nigeria’s ageing population? We can and we must build the workforce to do it.

Today, we are rolling out the red carpet for the absolute heartbeat of our Awka branch, our wonderful Matron, Mrs. Ngozi Nworah! 💚

To know her is to love her. She is the glue that holds everything together at our awka branch, always hard-working, endlessly cheerful, wonderfully funny, and fiercely dedicated. No matter the hour or the task, she is always ready with a smile and eager to jump in when called upon.

Thank you for years of unmatched dedication, kindness, and for being the warmth we all rely on. We celebrate you today and always!

From all of us at Prompt Home Health, Happy Birthday, Matron! We love you! 🎉🥂

A caring hand can do more than assist with daily needs. It can restore confidence, protect dignity, provide companionship, and help an older adult live more safely and comfortably at home.

At Prompt Home Health, we believe professional caregiving is about seeing the person, not just the task. Because sometimes, the hand that cares can change a life.

Nigeria Is Ageing. Is Our Healthcare System Ready?

The question is no longer whether Nigeria will age. It's whether our healthcare system will be ready when it does.

More Nigerians are living longer — a genuine achievement. But longer lives require a care system built for the realities of ageing, and most families are navigating that reality without one. The extended family structure that once absorbed elder care has thinned. Households are smaller. Adult children move to cities, or abroad, for work. The people once available to help have shrunk in number, even as the need has grown.

Being "ready" means proper planning, standardized caregiver training, and a reward system that treats caregiving as a real career. It also means recognizing something we rarely connect: a young population in need of work, and a growing elderly population in need of skilled care, are the same opportunity.

In Issue 005 of Executive Insight, I look honestly at what Nigeria's ageing population actually demands — from families, from agencies, and from the country as a whole.

Recovery after a stroke is often built one small step at a time.

With appropriate rehabilitation, encouragement, a safe home environment and professional support, many stroke survivors can work toward greater independence and confidence in everyday life.

This Sunday, celebrate every step forward because progress, however small, matters.
