Today is World Tuberculosis Day. We join the world to create awareness on the devastating effects of this deadly disease in the hope that it will be eradicated just like polio.

Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection that affects any part of the body especially the lungs, brain, kidneys or spine. It can affect anyone regardless of age.

There are three stages of TB- Exposure, Latent and active disease.

Skin test or blood test can diagnose the disease.

Prevention is by Vaccination,
early diagnosis & treatment.
As well as isolation of infected person until they are no longer infectious.
